With the core players on their list being on the verge of entering their peak years along with Longmuir entering his 7th season as coach there is no reason why Fremantle shouldn't be aiming to finish top 4 on the ladder and follow it up by making a preliminary final. There is no doubt they've underperformed recently which hasn't been helped by players leaving but they lost no one they wanted to keep in the last free agency/trade/draft period, so this along with another pre season under the belts of the relatively young core players there is more stability in the side and there should be no excuses for 2026 being another year of disappointment and underperformance. What do you think a pass mark should be for Fremantle in 2026?

Pass mark for LeBronco for 2026 - to never make another thread. Personally, I don’t think he’ll make it.

As for Freo, top 5

Top four.
They now have everything set for a premiership tilt.
Brayshaw, Serong, Young is a brilliant trio.
A Unicorn in the ruck with ample backup (Darcy).

Forward line will be humming with Voss leading the charge as their best key forward.
Reid, Bolton, Treacy, Amiss, Frederick is impressive firepower.

Not the best in defense. They lack that one or two quality key defenders. Pearce is solid but getting long in the tooth.

Josh Draper is 22 (197cm) think he will be a very good defender to replace Pearce
Cox 27 looks to finally have some momentum back after a few bad years of injury.
He’s 195cm but broad shoulders 100+kg can play taller

Pearce has started the last 2 years in AA form just needs to stop breaking bones

A close loss in a prelim is the minimum bar I set but freo should be winning the lot barring injury to multiple key position players

Prelim minimum, want for nothing. Window is officially open.

Biggest weakness is rebound from d50 being slowed and then the ball being turned over, but not because there is a lack of cattle in the squad, or options to kick to. Pressure on the coaches to make that bit work. When they are able to go quickly they score heavily.

They're still one of the youngest clubs in the AFL. I think around 12th oldest when you combine age and experience. Maybe they're still a year or 2 early for a flag.

Anyone know if a club has won a flag while being around the 11th-13th oldest like Freo are??

That is one of the more rare permutations. Means making a GF or a prelim from 5-8. Both should be a pass mark but the "normal" way to prelim going LWL probaly a pass, too..
I think anything less than a top four finish is a failure for Freo. If you look at the club’s drafting and recruiting since 2016, you’ve got a list profile that should be performing now.

NPC coach bereft of ideas if plan A fails, no obvious gameplan beyond hoping the twin towers mark the rushed high ball.

Undersized 1 paced midfield, Young injury prone, Serong cant cope with a hard tag, too much left to Brayshaw

Suspect defence, Pearce injury prone and a poor captain

Forward line stacked with talent that goes missing far to often, seem to lack cohesion

Losing an elimination final to Fold Coast at home was just deplorable, missing finals in 24 was horrid.

Must make top two and make a prelim to pass. Fortuntely have a wide open girthy window given the age profile.

I don't disagree with a lot of this even if it's harsh.

A team with all of these issues shouldn't be top 2 though. 5th-8th feels more correct.
