Think Hawthorn are still a top 4 quality side. Backline is one of the best if not the best. Forwardline is high quality and the midfield is good enough despite concerns. The talent is there, will just be how quickly can gel and cohesion come into it.

Brisbane have a gap on the rest of the comp, which is a general consensus.
Consuelo says you have a Diablo persona Liberace

Shows how good AI is. Dear unsighted - yeah, well he didn't play. English dominating Reeves - at what, given he didn't play either. Barrass not connecting with Battle - sensing a pattern here. I'm amazed it didn't mention that we were missing Peter Hudson
What do you mean? It was clearly spot on.

Dear was unsighted, due to not playing.

English dominated Reeves so hard he didn't even dare think about stepping foot on the field, let alone have his magnet on the whiteboard.

How the hell could Barrass connect with Battle when he wasn't even at the stadium?

As for your last quip. AI would have it spot on if they did list you as missing Peter Hudson. The bloke's 80. How could you expect him to line up at FF for you?

SMH...

Looks like you’re trying out a few guys in there that might be able to move the needle, but that of course robs you of their output in their previous position, so it might be a catch-22 situation.

Worpel and CJ played 20 games each last year and you didn’t replace them with anyone of note, so you’re largely relying on a lot of internal improvement, and not getting many injuries.

You really really really need Day back and firing. Otherwise, you may struggle to emulate last year’s prelim appearance.

Day hasn't been a factor for quite a while. His injury this year isn't a "loss" relative to 2024/25 - His return will be a bonus.
Worpel and CJ had limited benefit in the side, as well. They were probably the two players that fans have been the most frustrated with over the last few years. They are credited with the most unforced errors for quite some time.
The one thing that will need to be replaced is Worpel's grunt at the bottom of the pack. The Hawks need someone who can get deep and dirty or they will give up first possession too often. They can't rely on neat taps and smooth play, because that only happens occasionally. They need a hard man.
Nash has some potential the be a physical presence, but his personality is a bit passive. I'm not too sure who would be next in line for the in and under role. Maybe someone like Moore could take it on, but he would need time to develop.

It's the Hawthorn achilles heel at the moment, I feel...

We may see Ollie Greeves sooner rather than later. If he keeps having good games at the lower level like the other day it will be a matter of time.

2025 was their shot at the grand final
Now teams are coming up.
Say get to week 2 of finals say make a semi.
Got them lossing the semi tho.
Tipping the hawks in there in 6th in 2026.
A touch drop off in 2026.
other teams starting to work them out.
But should make a semi final

Hawks keen on thinking its 2013-2015 at the time.
Sadly it isnt.
Got a real aggressive arrogance about them since Ginni came to them.
Fans of the hawks keep on forgetting theres 17 other teams in the comp.
And its not all about you hawthorn.
Must say they are the rudest fans of all rude and clueless.
Thats all

I'd think getting to the second week of finals is the pass mark.

I think we are ahead of schedule for where we should be anyway.

The window's open. Getting to a prelim and giving a good account of yourself is par.

Anything less doesn't derail the project or anything but it would be a disappointing season in isolation.
