What do you think a pass mark should be for St Kilda in 2026? After topping up with high profile players in the trade and free agency period last year plus the rapid emergence of Wanganeen-Milera there is no doubt in my mind a pass mark for St Kilda in 2026 is a finals appearance at minimum. They've only played 1 finals match at the MCG since 2011 so it would be amazing to see the Saints up and about as they can draw pretty good crowds when they're doing well and could be a smoky to finish top 6 if the cards fall their way.

Don't know, but ill be sure to shit on them for daring to try something different instead of accepting mediocre performances year after year.
Getting a few B graders through the door in one off season isn't exactly groundbreaking. They've done it a few times in their modern history.

They've gone pretty hard off-season

Top 6, time to deliver
Think the re-signing of NAS sped the timeline up for them to get good. Signing for 2 years and then chasing as hard as St.Kilda have means improement must be made. Doesn't need to be premierships but winning a final at a minimum one would think?

As hard as St.Kilda have gone, has the overall top end talent improved? A brief dive probably says more than you think;

Mortaged on Dougal Howard and the undersized and under appreciated Callum Wilkie. The smalls are a mixture with Jack Sinlair being the obvious standout. Tauru going to play defence again as he could be the real wildcard.

The midfield lost Jack Steele who appears on a decline already, they really need that nextgen to move into place. Max Hall showed good signs, Phillipou is now due toexplode, I really rated Garcia from his time at the Cannons and Boxshall showed good VFL form. Is it deep enough to compete with the best?

Forward is the real mixed bag, on paper, M.King, Marshall, Higgins, Owens, Sharman doesnt look much but improvement from that next tier could improve them into a serious contender.

They were 12th in points for and 6th in points against meaning they will need to improve drastically to improve that percentage they had in 2025 (13th)

Given the posturing by the board and the trade period, top 8 and a win a final should be their pass.

Realistically 9th/10th.

FWIW I think they'll be poor this year (bottom 6) but accelerate the year after onward (genuine finals threats). Moving on Ross Lyon will help too...
