McQualter himself has said win/loss isnt what he's going to be looking at.

Obviously it will hurt him if we only win 1 or 2 and get belted every week but if we only win 1 prv2 but are seriously competitive most games and you can see something building then he'll be fine.

Improved % is something that he himself has mentioned

Trac down to Scerri
Windsor up to N. Daicos via DPP

Leaves 600k ITB and at least Blakiston, Carroll, Lombard still to go before I can start trying to guess if rookies have price capped and/or trading premos.

Bont in next week I think and Ash the week after. Those are my 2 targets right now

Games like today, with older players like Yeo, Roberton, Starcevich and even Murdoch out, to temper the storm, is why it will take a year or two before west coast are consistently competitive. Still, it’s been 2 steps forward and 1 step back.
Learning how to impact a game when it is not going your way, is probably the toughest thing to learn on your way to be a professional 150+ game AFL player.
Experience in the system also counts for a lot to build a base. Classic example is Dursma going head to head with 13 game player Serong on the wing for 3/4s, with Serong easily the winner. Serong is in his 5th year in AFL.
with such a young team there is Always going to be a step back after a few steps forward.

Think they finish with maybe 4 wins total maybe 5

Could beat Essendon and Richmond over in the west
Though those teams also will have it circled as a rare winnable game
I'd hope North play a lot better against them later in the year and win.

They can beat the usual suspects but even they’re tossups considering those clubs are all the same level. That section of the ladder is effectively relegated and aren’t going anywhere.

Pretty much. The Richmond, North, Eagles, Essendon, Port games aren’t AFL standard and these kids should be playing in junior league to get experience. But alas these are all they have to field a team and the cycle will just continue.

But hey we need add at least two more teams right??

Losing Robertson and Yeo in the middle sent Eagles back to reality. Relying on Yeo is not a good look. Reid has some way to go to handle tag.

They need a competitive ruck asap. Flynn is demoralising for the whole team. Shocking performance from him yesterday. I don't think Archer Reid and CDT is a full time option right now. Bailey Williams coming soon?

Injuries will decide a wooden spoon. It's between Tigers, Eagles, Essendon.

Yeo didn’t exactly play bulk midfield minutes lately. Was returning from injury and was easing back into it.

Nothing special about Robertson either, plenty of options to replace him. The main issue was the effort, they were asleep from the start and got torn a new one.

I disagree. Robertson and Yeo, I watched them vs Suns and they provided contest. Sure Robertson disposal is poor but at least he runs 2-way and is hard.

Plenty of options to replace them? I did not see it yesterday. You got Hewett (still only mostly a prospect) injured then who? Graham, Kelly are not options long-term and are just average plug ins at best. Allan has some decent moments, then struggles. Jury is still on him. McCarthy hype went down a notch.

Eagles midfield is easily their weakest link. It usually take 4+ years to develop a proper midfielder, who delivers week in week out. From Suns perspective, it took Rowell and Anderson 5 years to reach current level, Miller even longer.

It all started with horrible Flynn's performance.

Eagles did look flat after highs in the last 2 weeks. 6 day break did not help. Let's see how they go next month. But that was uncompetitive performance yesterday. You don't want to lose by 128 at home.

I like some Eagles kids. Good luck. I will watch with interest.

Hewett was an emergency so he's not injured.
Unfortunately he's just not very good .

Which is why WC will get PPs this year after 5 wins.

Likely 2 extra end of 1st rounders and then it should be on its own.

Coming back from injury for the umpteenth time in his career. I suspect they're trying to build him up in the WAFL to try and get his fitness right because he's miles better than a bunch of guys they had running around yesterday.

Yep and Robertson are indeed important to the midfield make but we certainly need to reduce our reliance on Yeo.

Thought Allan looked good in the centre in the 4th. Should've tried it earlier but better late than never. Would like to see him start in there v Geelong.

Hewett was on managed minutes in the WAFL this week. At least have a clue before commenting.

One of 30 players in the comp to average >3cl and >0.5G a game last year, after missing his entire second season.

The arrogance of people to comment with complete ignorance is astounding.
