Now you're just being a tosser, Brades. Last week I excused you for being on the cold and flu tablets, but this is starting to get repetitive.
No need to apologise, I accept.

hi guys, we didnt get any coverage of the game.
how did warnock play, with sandi getting in the better players
im thinking he probably didnt get much game time but how was he when he was on the ground & does he look afl ready to take on the #1 ruck

In a word - no.

He's a skinny kid, needs at least another pre-season or two to get some bulk and strength. Didn't really do much to be honest. But please do make a big play for him, if nothing else, it might mean we actually get something for him.

Every week this year we've effectively played with 20 players coz at least 2 players do absolutely feck all or worse - their clangers and f*ck ups outweigh the measly possessions they do gather...

McManus, Thornton, Schammer and Peake have done it all year.

I'd take Mark Johnson over them any day just becoz he tries like hell and actually wins the ball with his 2nd efforts.

Saying McManus tries harder then anyone else on the field is utter crap - he's hardly done any bullocking work or 2nd efforts this year and most of the time he can't anyway coz he simply doesn't have the agility in his knees anymore. Macca is well, well, well past it. Like Parker last year he just wasn't up to it when the season came around - should have been given the tap on the shoulder but for some f*cked up reason the coaching staff love him.....!!!!

Peake has been a little better since coming back but today just typified him as a player - always a front runner, never reliable...

Thornton is utter poo - but again, the coaches love him, why?????

How many chances do you want to give these guys before you realise that they are just simply crap and don't deserve a game? The only way they'll do anything if the teammates around them are much better then they are...

Time to give Head, Foster, O'Brien and Hinkley more game time...and feed some through Dunn, Browne to see if there was any point retaining them last year

I could stomach losing if we were blooding as many kids as possible - 2 more kids in the team would not be too many

but at a reallistic price though.

Warnock and Simmonds would be a very good ruck combination.

Yeah, bit of a fan of Warnock, not so much for his rucking abilities at this stage, but more for his ground work. Most of his possessions today came from firing out a handball while on his knees. Bit more meat on him and look out. Seems that will be against us, but oh well, we've benefitted from the go-home factor a few times, it happens. As long as we get compensated, all is well.

Re: the thread topic.

Braedesmen, what game are you watching. Mundy can't chase, CANNOT hold a tackle!!!, won't put body on the line (eg. Mi Johnson/Palmer today backing in to Brown's path) and for mine his much vaunted disposal isn't what it's cracked up to be. Mundy = squib.

Thornton is a goose, gets the ball, runs, handball INTO trouble. :thumbsd:

Give Head, Hinckley, Foster, Gilmore a run for Thornton, Mundy, McManus, Ma Johnson.

The one on Foxtel. Why were you watching the wall? Game wasn't on TV there. I saw him put his body on the line and hold tackles, so yeah, that wall must have been entertaining :thumbsu:

You might have HEARD him put his body on the line. But that was an error by the commentators, it was actually Palmer.

You must tuck him in at night. S.O.F.T.

Nope. Unlike you I don't watch the game with the intent of trying to find bad things by Mundy.

Palmers disposals were a wee bit dubious today at times.

The key is making sure the lads.....that would be Ibbo, Palms and Shaggy take their natural abitlity and move it on to the next level in 09.

Hey we lost today but shit it was great to watch the new generation doing it for the team!!

In all the doom & gloom, I'm starting to pickup a tad :p

Lack of talking and shepherding was mentioned in the broadcast.
When Ryhs was going for goal and he bounced it (no talking), and also the commentators said no shepeherding when we had the ball going forward. I think Thornton was the culprit.
Talking and shepherding, do it or don't play !!!!!

Good point Sumavich. Was just thinking of posting something similar.
I had heard that Richmond had a no tackle/no game policy.

Something similar for the Dockers may be beneficial. No shepherd/No game. It would obviously encourage the overlap/running in numbers....

Yeah Rhys was a bit off today, AFL.com has him at 50% efficiency, he looked knackered, runs himself into the ground week after week. A few of the other blokes should take notice.

Mundy
Peake
Thornton
McManus

We had an excellent performance from at least 12-14 players today, but until we can get a contribution from 22 players, we won't be winning too many games.

Thoughts?

The usual suspects. How many chances do these guys get??

on palmers disposal yes it was down but i think he also gets alot of contested disposals/rushed kicks from stoppages which brings it down. That said i was a bit disappointed he shanked a few kicks..

Disposal efficiency can be a useful stat but sometimes it can be misleading, the bloke who plays loose on half back or a wing for instance can get 15 to 20 soft touches and not miss a target, but also not take the game on or be a match winner with contested ball... That missed shot in the last i when he was streaming towards goal was due to the bounce just before he kicked which in turn was due to a lack of talk.

Yep. I'm sure he'd like a few of those kicks back, but his workrate was phenomenal. Not far off the most dominant midfield performance I've seen in a Purple jumper (OK, it was white today).

The kid will be a gun.
