We had an excellent performance from at least 12-14 players today, but until we can get a contribution from 22 players, we won't be winning too many games.

Thoughts?

Mundy does not attack the ball hard enough. It was glaringly obvious this game.

At least Mark Johnson does.

That's why he isn't on my list of passengers.

Doesn't mean he's really up to it, though.

Foster, Head, Hinkley, Browne, Dunn and O'Brien should all be given a decent chance soon. Harvey's logic that you can only have a certain amount of young blokes in the side to be competitive makes sense, but when there are 4 blokes in the 22 giving you nothing playing 7 or 8 youngsters can only be a good thing.

He's on Bradesmaen's. I don't think he's up to it either, but he shows more than Mundy does.
If 'showing more' earned you a spot on an AFL list, then McManus would have been a trade target for everyone in the AFL.

Sorry gravy but you just lost front seat priviliges for lack of any common sense and a 100% lack of football knowledge. Now go back to the economy section.

Bell - retire next week
Mark Johnson - retire
Macmannus - retire
Thornton - Delist
Solomon - only if needed
Black - only if needed

Its time to give the young lads ago play them week in week out.
Obrien Hinkley Head Drum Dunn Schammer in my mind should all play. Some of you will call for Peake to be dropped but he needs game time.
Only with the inclusions of Hayden Dodd and Headland will some of the youngsters will lose their spot. But i say the season is definitlty over so just focus ont the youngsters and prepare for 09.

I'm not really sold on either of these two anymore. More than happy to see the other 4 get a go, but in reality, we might as well play a man short as give Browne a go. He's struggled to get through more than a month at Claremont for the last 2-3 years now and virtually every time he's run out for Freo he's done his hamstring.

Where's McManus come into this?

You took Mundy out, who lairises on the back flank and has no physical presence, and put Mark Johnson is, who has average skills but still lays tackles and gives second efforts.

If they are fit and playing well in the WAFL they're better options than Thornton and McMANUS though.

You answered the question by yourself. Yay for you.

Browne yes. Dunn no. Ryley plays on a flank for Old Easts and kicks a few goals, before going into the middle and acquainting his ankles with his pants. I don't care if he's young, he's done stuff all to show that he will be competetive at AFL level.

That doesn't make Mark Johnson a passenger, silly boy.
Neither does getting 16+ possies like Mundy did. Passenger means they are being carried through the game without getting a touch. Want a dictionary of football terms to think that one through? I'd gladly help you out with my far superior Football knowledge.

Probably, but unless we cop a couple more injuries, I don't see the room for 6 changes. We should get Dodd back soon, Drum needs to come back in when fit and Hayden will be back in a couple of weeks.

Getting cheap kicks from spilled ball on the back flanks is nothing. Especially when there were a few occasions where he jogged to the loose ball and was eventually beaten.

Takes it far too easy for an AFL footballer.

Since when did racking up a few possessions mean that a player couldn't be thought of as a passenger? Joel Bowden's a perfect example of a player who racks up the touches but does nothing for the team. How many of Mundy's possessions were contested? I know I'm having a crack at my own buddy, but his attack on the footy was pitiful today.

I'm not going to stick up for Mark Johnson though. Yes, he does attack the contest, but his overall skills aren't up to AFL standard anymore.

McManus has to be the first out the door though. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that he's the worst player on an AFL list currently getting a game week in week out.

Follow M. Carr's lead and retire, Macca, while we still feel fondly towards you.

I don't think Mark Johnson's great, but there's no way Mundy should be taken off the list of passengers if Mark Johnson is on there. Mundy has talent, he just takes it easy.

His kicks were to advantage and set up a few attacks != passenger. As I said, I'll be glad to tutor you.

Now you're just being a tosser, Brades. Last week I excused you for being on the cold and flu tablets, but this is starting to get repetitive.
