I used to respect Pat Riley alot. This was when he was at the Knicks. I have gone off basketball abit since then.

Tell me, is he still coaching? If so, where?

And has he ever coached to a NBA Championship?

now with the miami heat..

hasnt coached a team to a championship since leaving the lakers..

Speaking of coaches, what about Phil Jackson.
What a supercoach.
They talk about Kevin Sheedy in the AFL, Sir Alex in the EPL, but Big Phil is THE supercoach. 9 NBA Championships isn't it?

He is going another year with the Lakers?

Phil is the only coach in the NBA that can manage Superstars and headcases. Thats what made him successful.

its 8.... (three-peat, three-peat, and back-to-back)..
still at the lakers...

yes, great coach..
but then again he has been fortunate....

the first six were with JORDAN & PIPPEN...
then he inherited a team with SHAQ and KOBE..

Umm Coxy? 91 to 93 with the Bulls....96 to 98 with the Bulls...2000 to 2002 with the Lake Show....its 9.

Im not sure just how good a coach he is. Dont get me wrong he was the coach of my beloved Bulls through the glory days and i love him, even if he now coaches the enemy. But he was blessed with Jordan and Pippen and then got Shaq and Kobe.

What he is great at though as King Crow mentioned, is he can coach superstars, headcases, egomaniacs etc...and bring it all together. A great people person. I would like to see how well he goes though with say....Golden State?

9 it is... tied with red auerbach's 9 as well... can he overtake him?

yeah, it was red who came out recently criticising phil about the 'talent' he's had to work with to win 9...
