How can we describe today's game.
To not win against a side that had just lost the previous week by over 80 points, have a % of around 60% and only win 2 games for the year and what happens, we don't win.
Melbourne are weak. They have no character, no pride, no passion. They play as though thay don't give a s**t. Well I've got news for them, I don't give a s**t now. I am so disenchanted with the lot of them. They call themselves a football team, well I am sorry, but they are not.
They go on about what a great list we have got. Even on Demon Radio tonight they said the future loks bright. What a load of bulls**t. I want results and I want them now. We have put up with pure crap from this club for far too long and things have got to change now!

well abusing them and accusing them of having no passion and so on defenetly won't help them get results!

this is not our year.... we just have to face it, but we have a young list and the future is bright for the years to come!
A very reliable source (nicki *cough* *cough* :D) had a chat to a few of the big names in the melbourne club a few months ago and she told me afterwards that within a few years we will have a premiership!
look at Collingwood.... they had a **** few years and now they are 5th or something and are travelling very well!

always think dees01, that there are people worse off..... like Freo supporters (sorry Sabre) :D

keep believing!

GO DEES! :)

True Dees Rule but Freo didn't have high expectations, we did. How wrong we were. A premiership in 5 years. I'd love that to be true but at the moment its does not seem to be look like happening.
Passion: See last year and compare it with this year.

ok i was mentioned in the post by dees rules and i better explain the 5 year plan a bit more i thinks. ok here's the thing.

the club is obviously going through a rebuilding phase, (like we havent heard that b4  ) and the thing is the grand final last year was a bonus, and what they r building on is long term success. to get to the that long term success they have to ride the bumps and take the high with the low, and so do the supporters. u see this all something for the future. success is something that isnt going to happen overnight, and we have to be aware of that. The club was a force in the 1950 and 60's, but since then the other teams have grown and shot past us. it is not as if we havent grown, it is just that we have grown at a slower rate. the club has recognised this, and r trying to change it. what they want is to get to those standards of clubs like Essendon, carlton etc etc. just remember that they had these times as well. the ultimate aim of the melbourne football club is :to become one of the greatest sporting CLUBS in Australia. not just football but all round sporting clubs. You cant just snap fingers and SHAZAM it happens, it takes work, it has obstacles and hurdles but most of all it takes TIME.

now i know that we have a habit of going up and down more times than a lift, but u have to patient and just let things happen. one day the hard work will be paid off and it will be seen.

now maybe the club were being unrealistic when they said 5 years for a flag, but one day it will happen.

Well that's a change in attitude from what the club was saying after last years season. Yes the Grand Final was a bonus, but it happened and as a result we expect to be at least COMPETITIVE the next year. That's all I want and we are not getting it.

yeah we did wanna be competative and we are not and that hurts everyone, it even hurts the players believe it or not. So the only thing we can do now is stick strong by them and believe that they will grow to do bigger and better things.

GO DEES! :)

this reminds me of Saints after losing the 97 gf in a way because the next year the players get big heads and think it will come again all too easily but the thing is the next year the rest of the comp are usually a step up on them and go out extra hard to shut the grand finalists down...hopefully with Dees but after wot we r used to they will shoot right bak up to 2nd next year but um then we might wanna take a holiday from them in 2003 when they go bak to 14th

The Demons are a weird club. Are they rebuilding or are they a powerhouse club.??? In 99 you finished 14th!! then last year you go all the way and lose at the last hurdle to a very good Essendon team and now this year again you languish in the bottom 4? What is going on with your club, you need to get some consistency from year to year.
