if we had of got him in 99 like we planned to, do you think he may of developed a little quicker?

We never planned to get him. TW and the dogs saw something in him that the we didn't. He had a terrible carnival and showed nothing that would inspire you to draft him.
He was drafted on the fact that he moved well, kicked well and could take a mark. Was always going to take a while to develope.

Adds a lot to our line-up.

yeah, and dotn forget, he has the Robert Walls seal of approval, which stamps him as a future star, in the same mould as Michael Manfield, who was going to be anything according to the visionary himself. ;)

The more he comes on and Pettifer and hopefully Jackson step up, Brown gets better etc it all adds to the dilution of the Richo obssession. When we can develop serious alternate threats thats when the big fella will also become of more value. As it is the "mob Richo" defensive stategy will work everytime. This week was noticeably different in that we took good options regardless of what number they wore. At last weeks game I saw several occassion where good options were ignored waiting on Richo to lead. That has to go if we are gonna get better.

i was reading an article in the eye of the tiger section of the rfc site from joel saying that patrick trained with us and was going to get selected late in the draft or rookied

I have found a few humbles in the bush, but need to find a few more to have enough for a pie.

Then I will have to learn how to cook, may take a while.:D

Paddy should get out of his form slump before it's too late.

Looks dangerous in the forward line, but seems to lack a heap of confidence and goes missing.

Why isnt he playing the defensive role we had him playing last year? Does the current structure not allow for it? Better get his sh*t together, although he'd have another one left on his contract i'd imagine.

He was awesome against brisbane last year and had a good season but gee he's really fallen away this year.

Yep. One feels the senior coach has to pull him into gear and fast, or he has to find some inspiration and not only start getting the ball, but kicking it properly, because even when he was playing well his disposal is very frustrating.

It's ganna take more than a game at Coburg to razz him up. He kicked 5 goals for Coburg a few weeks ago, got his senior call up then flopped again. It's upto Terry to find out the root of his problem and fix it fast.

IMHO he is a victim of the 2011 plan...he knows he will not be part of it, and the teams start to the season has now compounded that. He doesn't care anymore...game over....reminds of Stafford last year....'oh..it's the weekend tomorrow...better call someone and find out where we're playing....lucky I have a business plan for when I am done with this footy thing!'

Wrong about Stafford man. Gave the best he could till the end.

I have to disagree with you anyway. Paddy could be part of the long term plan if he is performing. What are we ganna do delist him when he's getting 24+ touches a game?

Needs to work harder.

Stafford:

Look at the 2006 Carlton, Essendon, Sydney, Fremantle, Kangaroos. Hawthorn, Lions, Essendon and WC games and tell me that was giving his all. And the worst part of those stats is that his TOG was pretty high too! Should have been forced to ruck more in his last year so he would have been more exposed being lazy rather than sleeping down at FF. Same ol story though...had no one to replace him

But thats history....yes, Paddy won't get probably get delisted so agree, needs to be given some motivation...a few wins might help him;)

Paddy should be delisted if he doesnt pick up. I agree there. But if he is playing well he wont be delisted come 2011, but just has to pick himself up.

Stafford wasnt lazy in 2006. His role was as a second or third tall forward and nothing else which maybe he struggled with, as well as age getting too him. He still busted his gut with leads and I think his game become worse the more frustrated he got. Very poor stats I will concede, but personally I dont think that it was due to work ethic.

Either way we would have been thumped alot more if we didnt have him through 2002, 2003 and 2004. Those are the years I will always remember him for.

Paddy should be playing every game, he his much better than they youngsters. schultz, tambling, raines and co arent performing week in and out.

We are developing them. You have no clue.

If he could play he would be a gun.

By 'play' I assume you mean play well as opposed to playing in the starting 22 (as you surely could not have meant that on recent form) and in that case anyone who could 'play' would be a gun.

A nice little riddle for you to go on with.
