I was just havin a heated arguement with a mate of mine about Joel Bowden being a recicver and thats what brought me to Patrick Bowden..Just wondering whats up with him surely with your struglling talls that you would play him yeah...

He's been out with a hip injury for a fair while now, but is listed as available for the first time this week. Might be back in seniors in 2 weeks or so I'd say.

i dunno where i can see paddy fitting in the team
it wouldn't be down back as they seem to be working alright together and i think if anyone was going to come in in the forward line it would be riewoldt or the steamer

he was also dropped before he injured himself i dont think terry was too pleased with someof his performances

Patrick Bowden is 191cm which is a very good size for a backman. He has pretty could skills and can really damage like his brother coming out of defence. Unfortunatly its his defence game that really lacks. Maybe his brother Joel can teach him how to be a more defensivly mind player to help him work on his accountability.

Joel had a similar accountability problem when he started playing the quaterback role 3 years ago, and now he is more-or-less our Fullback. If Patrick Bowden can take the 3rd tall (Thursty the first, JBowden the second, Polak loose(for now)) then we are well truley on the way to building a solid defence.

We would then have 3 191cm+ players plus Joel Bowden who can play tall. The Bowdens are excellent rebound players and Polak is good too. Add in the 3 smalls in King, Raines and Newman and its a very solid defensive unit. If Pat Bowden gets things right, McGuane would struggle to get a game even against taller sides

Our back 6 is pretty steady right now, but with Thursty still being very raw, Joel Bowden being pretty small and Polak not ready to take key talls, Patrick Bowden could be very useful if he could get his defensive game right. I would see him starting on the bench, therefore not replacing any of our starting 6. This way he could also be used foward when needed.
