I'd be worried if I were at Cats supporter. danger will surely have to weigh up wanting success or going home to Moggs. Can't see how the cats will be a top 4 side for a long time.

Same goes for the Hawks.
I don't think it's fair to judge us on that performance, something defiantly wasn't right, but I haven't seen us play that poorly for nearly a decade.
Not sure if it was the pressure of having to win to continue the hope of finals or if collingwood just pressured us into the ground.
Good win for the pies so won't take that away from them but totally understand your point of view about danger.
I do disagree on your Hawks comment at the end. You guys will still be there for the next couple of years, Geelong taught your club a lot about success over the years but now hawthorn are showing the entire afl how good they really are

You'd have to be a complete moron to believe Danger would change his mind after tonight's game, he is Geelong bound, if he just wanted finals success he'd stay in Adelaide.

Home is where the heart is, PD is signed, sealed and delivered at The Cattery, he has no interest playing for Collingwood, Melbourne or Richmond. They'll deny it, but I'm sure the deal was done weeks ago.

Melbourne would snap him in the preseason in a freaking heartbeat. There is nothing to stop them doing so if he choose to walk that path. Rules are the rules and he risks the same as 18 year old draftees at that point and if he got done by Melbourne or St Kilda (or Brissie for that matter) there is no court of appeal. There is no way he takes a PSD route. Clubs would get him for the min 2 years and back themselves in.
Yep just like GWS took Tippett ect etc

Clubs don't spend 1M on players that don't want to be there.

We agree to disagree.

Whilst I'm not confident of anything till someone is standing there in an official club polo I agree with the first point....whatever his decision it certainly isn't based on 1 game

2010 Prelim wasn't a decade ago

totally understand your point of view about danger.
Personally I don't think tonight made a difference to Danger. If he wants to come to Geelong he will, if he wants to stay in Adelaide he will. The only thing we are sure of is that none of us really know.
Besides all this doomsday talk about end of an era etc is plain stupid. The Cats have good selection of young kids. Just look at how suddenly glorious our future is, compared to last week

Feel like that was the P. Dangerfield Cup and the Pies have walked away with the spoils.

Whether or not that means he will come to the Pies or stay at the Crows is to be seen, but I don't think we will see him in the blue and white hoops going forward...

Your seriously deluded if he is going to Collingwood if that's what your implying.

As I said before, his decision was made ages ago, and the consensus is he's most likely Geelong bound.

Remember Collingwood looked like 2nd rate turkeys last week .

Besides I seriously doubt you have the salary cap space to fit Danger in.

I think its more likley that he will stay at the Crows, but if he leaves I reckon he will be a Pie. We'll lose out on Treloar but gain Danger instead. Just my opinion.

As for Salary Cap, we'd have it easily. Who are we paying? Cloke, Pendles and Swan (Veteran Listed). We'd be lucky if we're paying 95% of the cap as it is.

Someone seems a bit bitter that they'll be losing their Ruckman and only decent kick out of defence...;)

Side bottom would be well paid and cloke/Pendles contracts would pay for 3 top players at another club.

We agree to disagree.
Tippett is a bad example - both GWS and Brisbane were interested in taking him but the AFL told both of them they couldn't afford his contract demands so they couldn't select him in the PSD. E.g. At least two clubs were interested in taking him despite him not wanting to be at either.

??? GWS couldn't afford him???? Of course they wanted him and no doubt Bris did as well (not sure of their salary cap) but you don't spend that kind of money on a player who openly doesn't want to be there.

If he wants finals for the rest of his career, he will go to Richmond.
If he wants to play in the next couple years of elimination Finals then Richmond's the place to be. History repeating itself every time the poor old Tiges have a little sniff, the stock up of disinterested overpaid mercenaries begins.

And yet they were both interested in taking him.

KURT Tippett's path to Sydney in today's pre-season draft is assured after the AFL informed the Brisbane Lions and Greater Western Sydney that they did not have sufficient room in their salary caps to accommodate Tippett's nominated price and did not allow them to see details of the Tippett contract demands.

Only a matter of weeks before Danger announces where he is heading and the smart money is on Geelong but I hear there could be another club in the running.

I think we both need to come to terms with our era's ending. You just can't replace guys like Hodge, Mitchell, Burgoyne, SJ, Bartel, Enright etc. these guys are elite and once in a generation footballers. We won't slide much but if you're not top 4 it's pointless really.

As for Danger, no one knows what his motives are going forward. If he values family, then yes Cats are front runners, but if he wants premierships then he'll need to look elsewhere. Then there's Adelaide?? The beauty of FA, he gets to decide. All the best to him, one of my favorite players.

There is a bigger chance of Tony Abbott converting to Islam than Dangerfield joining Collingwood..

I find the trolling of twits like you unbelievable after the Tigers smashed you by 91 points last week, Collingwood won't come close to a flag in the next four years, unlike Richmond

I'm not sure how you can be so adamant that we won't get close within 4 years. We have an absolute glut of quality youngsters, 4th-5th youngest list and likely to finish 11-11 with a healthy percentage. With a bit of luck in close games we could've been borderline top 4. Don't let your hatred of Collingwood colour your judgement.

Who'd of thought? The media has created this speculation, maybe he was always staying.
I think he is...family is very important but so is his AFC family.
It's not like he hates it in Adelaide, and the team isn't a basket case.

Rory signing on + the tragedy of Walshy probably made up his mind to stay.

And while I'd love to have Danger at the Pies, for the sake of traditional footy values I'd prefer him to stay at AFC.

Many other experts, with more knowledge than you or I, have the Pies in strong contention in 2017 (not including Kingy on that list either)
