Is he out of contact?

I believe the blues should go at this kid hard, he is going to be a gun. would love to see him on our half foward line.

your thoughts?

Yes, he's out of contract, and I seriously think we will be in the mix to get him, Hutchy mentioned on the footy show on thurs night that the BOmbers are chasing 3 uncontracted players hardcore, namely Dangerfield, Boak and Sidebottom

I would love Paddy Dangerfield cos not only would he strengthen our midfield rotations but he could play a half forward roleand kick a few goals too, he's a good tackler and could compliment our side beautifully, expect us to make a massive play

I'm not sure we would have, or be prepared to offer to the Crows enough to get a deal done for Dangerfield. Our first draft pick will be in double figures, so that wouldn't get the deal done by itself & I'm not sure the club would be offering up any of our quality players as part of the deal, as virtually all of them are just heading into their best football years.

Would be a great pick up, but I couldn't see us being able to get the deal done.

as much as i would love him in our side i think the cost will be too much. its not like throwing 3 fringe players and a pick will make adelaide happy. to get something good you need to give up something good and i don't want to give up any current bluebaggers

Would be OK if we didn't have to overpay, otherwise Pass. Floodelaide are in the process of retiring a large part of their aging list, so there'll be bucketloads of cash to throw at the few quality younger players they have. Would be surprised if he goes, although their future looks pretty bleak. Perhaps they should merge with Port and form a semi-competitive side.

:)

I would rather Chris Knights.

Isn't he out of contract and wanting away?

According to Hutchy, Thompson, Bock, Knights and Dangerfield are all out of contract and guaranteed to leave for the Gold Coast and Essendon end of season, plus Kurt Tippett has deadset already signed for the Gold Coast and will be playing for their VFL side in 2010

The Kangaroos have been starting rumours about Knights wanting out trying to steal him every year since he was drafted, and according to his dad Dangerfield loves it at Adelaide and is going absolutely nowhere.

You can safely predict most if not all of The Crows' veterans retiring this year, leaving plenty of coin to keep Dangerfield happy. Adelaide's not that far away from home, so I don't think he'll be going anywhere.

Dangerfield won't leave Adelaide, just as Boak won't leave Port. Both are going to be great players for their respective sides for years to come.
Hutchy is an idiot for suggesting they might leave, these are highly rated youngsters and the clubs won't be stupid enough to let them get away.

I don't rate him as highly as most people on BigFooty do. Not a great user of the ball and doesn't get a hell of a lot of it. Would be ok but not worth paying too much for.
That's crazy talk Sin.

The group think has spoken on Clangerfield and declared him a superstar.

I can't forget Dangerfield's kick against Carlton after he turned and kicked a "bounce pass" to a teammate with a grubber of a kick.

The other Adelaide player was just 30 metres or so away from Dangerfield, yet he missed the target when he was under no pressure at the back of the centre square.

Yet Judd's disposal is bagged.

Go figure...

Yeah completely agree. I just don't see it with this bloke. We wouldn't sell the farm for 13 error ridden possessions a game.

Yes please, if we do lure him would be good, we will have some hard nuts at Carlton and to win a flag you need hard nuts, and you can never have too many hard nuts.

Judd plays for Carlton, therefore he is either a dud, hack or overrated & definitely not as good as Cyril Rioli.

That's all great, but for every player that comes in one has to go out.
I don't think we need to keep looking over other fences to realize that our lawn is in pretty good shape.
Some TLC and good management will get us most of the way there, but a quality tall forward is the missing link for us right now.
That's where I would be concentrating on.

Good point Harks, I think there are a few on our list at the moment that will not be playing in our GF side and are just treading water at the moment.

Yep, our depth is overrated as it is. We just can't think that nabbing these kinds of players is all going to be a one way street. Let's offer up a half decent player that we can ultimately afford to lose and a swap of picks for a promising young tall or stick with the draft.
