Do you really believe in that BS dude? So by those figures you are suggesting that if the 3 of them were put on a trade table, the comp would be falling over themselves offering the world for Hackson and if they missed out on him, after they had slit their wrists, they would then get down on their knees pleading for us to do the deal for Edwards. In the mean time Dangerfield is signing a 5 year deal with Southport seeing as he knows he has no chance in the AFL....get ****ing real FFS...some of you guys are embarassing with some of the shit you come up with...and I am not a big fan of Dnagerfield either, its the ****ing ridicoulous stupidity that you offer as comparisons...;)

What could/would they possibly give??? We would be in a better position than the other 2 circling clubs in Ess and Cats not doubt.

First round pick should do it if he nominated us, maybe a slight juggle of picks but I would be happy to use our first pick on him. Would be the ultimate swap with Dusty or lids fwd and mid.

Before I get shot down, we know he is very good, no guarantee with our first pick ever actually playing a game.

Sorry I am going to rant here.

The kid is not from Geelong! He is from Moggs Creek, about 15 minutes drive from where I live and about 45 minutes from Geelong. All this shit about oh he's from down Geelong way are just bullshit.

Not having a go at you UTG, it's just that I live near Moggs Creek and god how it shits me that people think this area is some kind of Geelong heartland. Down here we think Geelong is a shit hole and try to keep away from the place. The only way Geelong would have an advantage over the other clubs would be if he supported them as a kid.

It's a LOT closer to Geelong than it is to Melbourne. That's a big consideration. He could live down there and still train in Geelong. He couldn't live there and train in Melbourne.

and FWIW dude, we are into 2012, not 1942 when the horse and cart was used on the Princess hwy to get from Geelong to Melbourne. ;)
 
Cotchin, Deledio, Martin, Foley and Dangerfield would be the best line breaking midfield.

Well if that's the case then Geelong can look forward to snaring Jack Steven and Travis Boak as well. Lorne and Torquay kids. Plus they could probably get Nathan Foley and Luke Hodge as they come from that nearby cultural capital that is Colac.

Anyway, somehow I doubt he'd base himself in Moggs if he did go to the Cats. I mean, it's Moggs Creek, not Tahiti.

To be honest I am not a fan of stats but I know he doesn't score as good in SC as he does in DT so I had a look at his efficiency and was surprised to see how low it was. I was even more surprised to see it lower than the other two hacks everyone harps on about week in week out so I couldn't help myself and post that :p

FWIW we could do a lot better for what we would have to offer for him but hey, if some posters on here want to go down that road again then so be it but I am pretty sure he isn't a good enough user to impress Hardwick.

but or current strategy is working well. we have found decent players in grigg and houli and havent paid overs for them. I'd prefer to keep doin this.

with you on that one dude. Dont really understand what all the hype is about with this Dangerfield, looks like a dime a dozen type player to me. Yeah pace etc, but big deal, some fools here talk about it as if he is the only player with pace in the comp and out of it.
If we are going to pull out the cheque book make it ****ing count like Freo is trying to do now with Cloke...stop piss farting around with unproven hypesters..;)

Lets say Dangerfield would coem to us and wanted 700K, and we have that free in the salary cap.

We could get him, OR we could split that up 4 ways and trade/recruit 4 'second tier' players who are upgrades on 4 of our 'lesser lights'. Instant depth, and I think it would help the team more than Dangerfield would (as good a he is).

We've got the 'star quality' players already, we need the depth more.
 
Agree with most. Good player Dangerfield,but not the type to throw the kitchen sink at.
I reckon if you really simplify it he's a younger faster version of Shane Tuck.

Yeah he goes forward and kicks goals but I bet Tuck could've too at that age given opportunity.
Deledio,Cotchin and Martin have him covered.
