Just got a text from Paddys Aunty, so wrapped for her (not Carlton) finally good news to celebrate!

Yeah they went through an horrific family tragedy not so long so, so hopefully Paddy's drafting will provide the Kerr clan with happiness and joy :)

The old Carlton shoulder for the second half of the year. Never in doubt really.

Reminiscent of SOSOS in 2015.

Bit of a slide yeah? Thought he was meant to go 20-35??

After we picked Macreadie with 47, I was listening to every pick with baited breath, hoping that no one else would choose Kerr. After our 5th pick of the night I thought that was it, no Kerr. I was pleasantly surprised when his name was called at our pick 65. In a good team, in 2-3 years' time, he will be a real bonus in the forward line.

Just chipping here to say how happy I was with Carlton's selection of Patrick.

Very much a sucker of sporting romanticism.

Does have a bit of a Fevola-like lead on him - will leave comparisons with the great Fev there though! I reckon being drafted by Carlton where he has deep connections will bring the best out of Patrick like it did with James Tird at Essendon* (not comparing playing ability - just the drive to succeed, borne of a strong Club connection). This pick may allow C Curnow to ultimately play in the midfield, with McKay, SOSOS, Kerr, Pickett, Sumner and ? to play up forward in our new Gen-Y forward line. SOSOS and Kerr will be our "Gunston and Breust types".

Wasn't going to be happy with him at #48 with the tall mid and KPD prospects that were likely to be about, happy for us to take a punt on him because you just know he'll give his everything for the jumper.

Here's hoping he can get his mobility up to a point where he can provide a little havoc at ground level.

Defensive pressure, not an exceptional athlete.
Definitely the former, but he's got some athleticism, it's just his change of direction sucks at the moment. Very much in the mould of Levi (except he can kick thankfully).

The All Australian Full Forward usually goes top 5.. what is the knock on him that has made him slide to pick 65?

One dimensional? Do sides really play a stay at home FF anymore? Kid has talent but will need to add to his game. Bit of Jack Reiwoldt about the kid
