I’ve previously been critical of Lipinski, but his 2 goals in the 3rd quarter was exactly what we needed.

The blues were charging out of the gates after halftime.

I’m not sure if anyone remembers his real slick handball in the 4th that lead the Ollie’s 1st goal in the 4th quarter.

That handball stood out to me too. Very calm under pressure there

He's a victim of hype, he is that talented hardworking jack of all trades mid/forward.

He's a poor man's Pendles - which makes him a solid AFL player, with the potential to be more if he can just sharpen up his movements a bit.
There is room for improvement but even as is he is good value for the price paid and very necessary to our mid/forward mix at present.

He's by no means fast and sometimes tries to be too clever, ie try and reach in and pluck a ball out rather than absorb body contact.

But he works hard all day, is a good kick and an exceptionally good handball. Lightning quick with his hands.

Has to be in the discussion for recruit of the year.

His handpassing really is exceptional, its the best part of his game..

I wish he was faster, I wish he was better at contested footy, but we have a 2nd tier mid averaging 25 disposals that we recruited on the cheap....

He is good at what he does, and that's all we can ask for.

And only 23, could have more improvement in him.

I really think he is a way off his best as well.

Has such clean, quick hands it's crazy. So slick, if you watch the replay. The ball is there, then its not.

Apart from his two goals. One of my favourite moments was that he was trapped between a couple players with barely no space in the first? quarter, and he managed to find room to kick the ball to sidebottom. Who then kicked his 1st.

I think he will definitely improve. Its not just a function of age, but games in the 1s and having time to learn a role and make it his own. I would expect him to really go up another level at some point in the next 1 - 3 years.

So many expected a midfield saviour for a pick in the 40's . . .

Really ????

WTF ????

Go to any AFL recruiter and demand he gets an established midfield champion for a pick in the 40's.

They will laugh in your face.

He's bloody good value for what we paid and fills a very real need.

Thats it too. Having consistent games at senior level will help his confidence and ability to improve. Being more and more comfortable in a new team, new system.
And in a role that suits him. Hasn't touched the wing at all.

Where would he currently be in the sides best and fairest? Is he top 10?

Definitely top 15.
I'll try find my post but I believe I said he'd be top 10 when we traded him in this thread haha. I'm unbelievably happy he's doing well. I'm also happy he ended up at Collingwood as most of my family goes for the Pies so I do have a spot for them.

Top 5 for mine by the end of the year for sure.
But right now? top 10 for sure.
