Yeah ok but when the balls there to win and he squibs at the contest... I don't want that in the team

Yeah I thought he had a crack vs Geelong, previous weeks this year I'd agree with you.

Imo the standard for him needs to be what we saw vs Geelong. When he does that he is a very good playerfor us.

I think this might be an overly simplistic way of looking at it. He has driven me mad at times this season, but I'm not so sure if he squibs the contest. It just doesn't seem like it's instinctual for him to put his head over the footy in those kinds of contests.

Because we've seen him commit completely in other examples, even within the same game, I don't think he is necessarily squibbing contests.

You've just got to watch two of our hardest players in McReery and JDG to know that the whole go when his turn to win the footy is a bit silly. Blokes make decisions when the ball is in dispute - McReery will err on the side of caution and sit back to ensure he sticks the tackle and there isn't a clean break by the opposition. JDG will do the opposite and often he's overly attacking and allows a clean get away if he doesn't win the footy. In those situations, Lipinski's issue isn't his decisions, it's that he's not strong or quick enough to tackle as effectively as McReery or win the footy as effectively as JDG.

Patrick Lipinski 20+ touches

Smooth moving midfielder Pat Lipinski had his best game of 2023 last week against Geelong, helping himself to 25 disposals.

While it took Lipinski some time to reach top form after returning from a shoulder injury, he’s still averaging a decent 19 disposals this season.

With Nick Daicos out of the side, Lipinski attended 26 per cent of centre bounces against Geelong and he should see that number spike now that Jordan De Goey is also out.

20 touches should be a number that Lipinski cruises past on Friday night.

And he had 15 touches. Soft as butter and cant even find the ball. GTFO

I'd have Jack Ginnivan and WHE ahead of Lipinski for the finals. Good things happen when Jack touches the pill and he only needs 4 or 5 clean touches to hit the scoreboard. WHE is more versatile and has more pace. Lippa needs to pull his finger out. I do believe he is a favoured one as far as Fly is concerned.

Yea out of our one paced midfield, he is the one that needs to go as he has no elite traits unlike Mitchell, Pendles, Adams. His inclusion unbalances our midfield to become too slow and soft.

Got to imagine Allan is primed to take his spot next season
I'm hoping he gets one game in vs Essendon next week. Drop Lippa and see what happens.
Edward is faster, bigger tank, stronger, taller, and can play inside as well.
He will also be a better player with good players around him.
It could prove a master-stroke move from Fly.

Allan does not have a bigger tank, but I am unsure Fly drops Lippa. Seems to be a favourite

Probably did enough in the 2nd half to retain his spot. Need more though.

Watching him is frustrating. Often can’t tell whether he is lazy or just slow when he tries to get to a contest

At the ground I thought he was awful. Fumbly, reactionary, slow. Shocked to hear that people felt he redeemed himself in the second half?

I do not agree that he redeemed himself in the 2nd half at all, from watching it on tele. He was slightly less total dogshit in those last two quarters, but he was still useless

The only way he redeemed himself in the second half was by not being anywhere near the ball, which is a net positive for us.

He is what he was at the Dogs a good player with limitations.
The main limitation is he's not quick of mind.
