To suggest this corporate affair need extend to every other facet of his life is ridiculous. If Pratt is to stepdown from the Carlton presidency, perhaps he should also take a step back from all of his charitable work and his philanthropic pursuits (none of which seems to merit a mention in the broader media).

He has rescued one of the countries proudest sporting clubs from oblivion, which bias as I am, believe to be a very good thing for the competition. He deserves to see his good work through from the presidents seat for as long as he damn well pleases.

Time Price Fixer took his leave of Carlton

So The Price Fixer hangs on at Carlton not because he is the appropriate man for the presidency but because of what he can deliver. Moolah and lots of it.

And he stays on as the AFL fine-tunes its new code of conduct that will cover players and officials. It is contemplated that, say, a board member of a club is found driving under the influence that he would receive the same penalty a player might. The board member would be banned from the club for perhaps two or three weeks, in line with a player sanction.

How will Carlton police the code if it is left to the clubs? How can a board with The Price Fixer at the head of the table judge the actions of a fellow board member or sanction a player? It cannot without looking foolish and guilty of one standard for The Price Fixer and another altogether for the rest of the club. And by extension the AFL's code across the competition is compromised.

Does he post on BAY 13?

Bay 13 has a higher readership than The Oz.
