Essendon is a treacherous club because we have sacked one coach in the last 30 years. So fatprick goes to a club that has sacked more coaches in this time than any other. Great logic there.

I'm not a fan of sacking players or coaches while in contract, and at the time i thought the Board could ahve done something else, like take some power away from Knights such as Geelong did from Mark Thompson and impose some decent assistants on him. However, it is clear that we would have lost quite a few players, not to mention support and sponsorship. There really wasn't any otgher decision the Board could make.

One of my daughters jumped off the Tiges, for of all teams the Dockers (she doesnt really give a damn about footy one way or the other).

This article is about as relevant to the football world as the above atrocity committed by one of my own blood, ie who really cares.

I didn't hear it either, but it's pretty easy to assume Tim was referring to the ever-deepening, digraceful scandal engulfing News International, who own News Limited who, you guessed it, employ everyone's favourite moralist Patrick Smith.

If he quit Essendon because he couldn't respect us, it would be unbelievably hypocritical to stay in the employ of a company that hack the phone of a murdered schoolgirl, even erasing messages giving the parents false hope she was alive.

Not too mention the 9/11 bombing victims; families of soldiers killed in Afghanistan; Gordon Brown regarding his sick infant etc etc etc.
