That really is bad news. Just when we had a great bowling partnership going. Harris will be a good player to get back though.

No chance Cummins will be ready. Only starting running this week. Harris straight swap I reckon

I'm actually numb to these injuries now. It sucks as Pattinson was showing some real fire and converting it into bags of wickets, but it just doesn't surprise me that much.

It's a toe!? Just chop it off, you've got another 9 of the little buggers. Piggy won't get to go to the market but sacrifices must be made.

Yeah, didn't look as threatening/lively in the 2nd innings. Let's not forget this bloke has only played in a dozen or so first class matches... Bowling at test level just requires another level of fitness and it'll be a while before his body is strong enough to consistently handle the rigours of test cricket. It's not a surprise he's broken down to an extent (thankfully it's not serious). I think we're managing him well to not rush him back for the 4th test. He looked like he needed a spell (rest) and a hard earned break. He's still very young, he's got a good decade + of Test cricket in him so it's good we're taking the same route with him.

Better to be conservative now when the injury isn't too serious than keep playing him and cause a severe stress fracture, which could see him out for a few months and hinder his development. It just means Harris comes straight in now (which nulls the loss of Pattinson) and Lyon remains, won't affect us too greatly. Still a huge blow though, aint trying to downplay that.

Could've been worse..*

Bradley Haddin could've broken a leg , his neck or torn is hammy of the bone then we'd be truly screwed.

Thank goodness he'll be trudging on

Disappointing but these days hardly suprising anymore.

Harris must now play in Perth. I notice that Starc has been recalled to the squad. In that case stuff the 4 quicks policy and keep Lyon in the team.

Starc bowling his long hops outside off stump on an even bouncing WACA wicket is the stuff of nightmares.

Christ we can't keep bowlers fit for more thana game or two.

Harris sure to break down before perth, we can always hope the johnson clone also shines at the WACA.

The case against Lyon is that he hasnt threatened on the more spin friendly MCG and SCG pitches. With Rhino coming back from injury, the four quick policy looks set for Perth, with Lyon to come back in Adelaide depending on the form of Starc you'd think

:(

But we're 2-0 up, we only need a draw for the series, I'm happy for CA nurse him for a couple of years yet, if it means he ends up the best he can be over his career
