Ask PooMonkey.

He'll find out by stalking Bower at the physio.

Or goreds will bag him unreasonably again.

Not going to be popular, but here it goes...

Couldn't agree more Blues...

He gets pumped up on this board because of his kamikaze eye catching style...

His clangers on Thursday night were terrible and he even dropped an overhead mark when not under pressure...

Out of the 3 key defenders we have at the moment Bower is rated 3rd and with Austin due back soon I think his position will come under pressure because Austin is stronger overhead as well as quicker across the ground...

His comparison as a player is Christou(for those old enough to remember) and Ang had a cannon for a left foot and pace to burn as well as being an AA...

Bower still has some work to do...

lol mate u lost all crediability when u said this, from what game are u basing this on?

As for dropping an uncontested mark, pleazzzzzzzz it was a warm nite with players sweating heaps which would naturally make the ball as greasy as an oiled pig, and even if it wasnt big deal dropping 1 mark lol I have seen nearly every great player of the last 40 yrs do the same.

Don't know if he has lost credibility. Bower is a great spoil and I love his work but would go for Austin as a better mark. Bower probably has him covered in everything else (decision making, face pulling...) but lets hope they even up once Aussie gets back ;)

Well I like his run out of defense, but yes his kicking is shocking but hes not the only one.

Oh for ****s sake.

Do I REALLY have to say it again?

Bower's disposal is excellent - one of the better users of the football in our team.

He made a few errors but there is no player that doesn't.

I really can't be ****ed bringing out the stats on this one again, but suffice to say you are wrong. Very, very wrong.

FMD.....how many times do I have to prove morons that say Bower is a poor kick wrong?

It's like a ****ing broken record.

Bower is an excellent kick, one of the more accurate in our side - and he has been since forcing his way into the team a few seasons ago.

A few clangers here and there doesn't change that fact. EVERY PLAYER MISSES TARGETS.

If we had a full team of players that were able to kick as well as Bower we'd be a much better team.

I'm sick of morons that think a poor kicking action = poor accuracy & efficiency. Because it quite clearly doesn't.

96% disposal efficiency and zero clangers from 25 touches validates you're fury.

Bower is 22, not even half way through his career and hopefully will be part of the backbone of our defence for many years to come.

He's growing into his game every year and on Thursday he was starting to use more run and carry then kicking rather than handballing, definately growing in confidence and definately has some pace too.

Watch the game again people who think he's crap/over rated.

Don't think Austin has played any pre season games of any sort, think he even missed bullants trial on the weekend. Be surprised if they then decided to bring him in for thurs even if he was fit.

Maybe they will bring in Army and just go shorter, pretty sure waite will have to drop back and play loose to help out with brown and fev though.

I think grigg should be called up. That will give us another good option in the middle and we all know that's were the game is going to be won

If he's out, Waite is the logical one for the back half, along with Jammo &T-Bird

Aussie's been injured, yeah? Hasn't played a pre-season game nor played with the Bullants on the weekend.

Either play short by bringing in another mid, ie. am thinking Lucas, and have two key fowards (Hendo & Carlos) or

Try another tall, perhaps with Kruz playing permanent forward (although, I don't think he's ready for this, much prefer him being a floater rather than a leading forward). If he's not going to be in the ruck, then Sauce or, if fit, Hammer can come in.

Would prefer the Lucas option.

Would not really want Lucas debuting in this game, much prefer bringing in army or grigg, will get much more out of them in such a high pressure and important game.
