3 games this year. Club refuses to speculate on his injuries. Out again this week. Discuss.

Unfortunately may never live up to his potential because of injuries. Could be an All Australian CHB if he could string some games together. Very disappointed to hear he is out again.:thumbsd:

It's just bloody annoying. Maybe the club have decided to be cautious with him because Brown and Fev aren't playing?

If we needed Bower this week with Fev & Brown both out then there is something wrong. Jamison, Thornton & maybe White or just Walks as 3rd tall should be more than enough. If he's a bit sore no point in risking him. Hamstring / Quad are shit injuries that can recur after not feeling them for a week or 2. These things happen.

Probably would have made AA this year, instead he has missed half a season with a said Quad injury which to me is hard to believe. Be nice to know WTF is going on here.

I'm sure you've played plenty of sport in your time. If you've had injuries (especially this type) then you'd know how pesky they can be when you get them. He's obviously come back, played a game in the Ants no worries then played in the 1's and suffered some tightness in the area. Was said to be soreness so could be just precautionary with Brisbane set to be missing both key forwards this week.

haha, pulled up with a quad injury of some sort last night actually. I wonder how that will pan out, good I hope.

Not sure if a quad is something that is easy to get rid of or losen up if it gets tight. Just a bloody long time for what appears to be a minimal injury to a muscle. Very frustrating. Luckily Brown and Fev are out so we aren't desperate for him this week. But he would have been a good match up for Brennan.

Well from what i've seen he tore it the first time, and perhaps it hasn't healed 100%. It might heal i.e. no pain, able to function as normal etc then play a few games before irritating something in there again. Its an inexact science unfortunately in that for all intensive purposes it is fine, yet still comes up sore sometimes.

I've had this injury myself. Cost me 2/3rds of a season. It is a tough one. You think you are right and ,Bang, it goes again.

Pity, because a fit Bower is EXACTLY what we need.

No great mystery...quads take time. The most minor of tears often means three weeks plus on the sideline. Can also be difficult to gauge just how 'right' a quad is. Generally minor tears feels fine whilst running at close to full capacity, and even a bit of light kicking back and forth, but it is only when you really go for distance or penetration by foot that you get the big contractions and a bit of a feel for things. At least that's my experience...medical types feel free to clarify.

Happy for the club to take all the time in the world getting Bower right.

Welcome back to the 'Running Man Walker'

Hopefully he can go back to his form of a few weeks ago!!

Seems to play better on talls than smalls, using his pace and fitness to expose tham. Could be handy in the future as Bower plays other roles such as rebounding or third man up very well too.

Very frustrating indeed!

Three times this year he has played one game and out the next... not worth the risk so get him right before he plays again!
