INFLUENTIAL Western Bulldogs figure Paul Dimattina says the bloodletting at the club should not stop with Rodney Eade.

The former player said he was "gobsmacked" Eade was relieved of his job and is "gravely concerned" with the club's direction.

Dimattina said he was not interested in standing for president, but believed there were influential figures mobilising.

Dear Dimma
Throw your hat in the ring or shut the f**k up.

Don't buy the too busy excuse. Lots of presidents have busy workloads and
do the job.

Rumour is there is an influencial businessman who wants to make a challenge for President. The first thing he will do is wipe the debt.

Lets see if it happens.

Won't have to challenge, will he?

Smorgon has said that if anyone rocks up with a cheque to wipe the debt, he'll happily step aside.

Im normally the first one to have a go at Smorgon but now is not the right time for a board change
Paul Dimattina's involvement would be a gargantuan backward step for the club. It's the sort of crap you normally hear from Melbourne, Norf and other messes of clubs. For heaven's sake, no more ex-players. Having Garlick there is bad enough already

What specifically is your issue with Garlick?

Nothing really, by all accounts he's excellent. But there is always a risk that ex-players can be conflicted at times. It is not necessarily a rule, and there are many successful ex-players in administration, but I am still wary.

So I guess my turn of phrase was flippant, that's what I meant.

Fair enough...but we've had some shockers in the past. Who was that bloke from Victoria Harness Racing? At least we know Garlick was trained by one of the best in Cam Rose.

And is at least a businessman (currently doing an MBA i think?)

With all due respect to the great Jim Stynes, it's a real weakness in the Melbourne hierarchy, for example.

Here.....here......he has not even bothered to have a chat with Smorgan to understand the issues directly from the president. So yes...Dimma, get involved talk to Smorgan and stop carping on from the sidelines or just shut up.
