I'd just like to mention him, think he has been really good of late, his ruckwork has improved 100% and no longer are we hurt as much when white goes off or heads forward, his tap work has been very good

also he offers us a lot of run and link which unfortunately the big russian is not as adept at, he very athletic for a big man and has very good skills, we all know it takes a while for big men to develop but i think he just might be around at the club for a while yet

thoughts?

He has really impressed lately and I really like the way Neale used him today rotating him up forward as an option instead of wasting him on the bench. His leading was really good, just needs to make more of his kicking in the forward line. Also, he is starting to look fairly versatile after playing down back in some games this year so kudos to him on his progression and also to Daniher on giving him opportunity to learn multiple positions.

Didn't notice this thread before I posted in the game thoughts thread, so i'll just say pretty much what I said in that one.
I think it's best if we let him share Miller's old job with Bate, leading up from around half forward. Got the frame and good hands, but not the best set shot.

Neale used him very intelligently today, when we lost O'Brien and Johnson went forward it really stuffed our matchups.

With Wakelin having to go to Johnson, Maxwell had to take Neitz, leaving our kids on Robbo.

If he kicked straighter he could have really killed us.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Paul johnson or Mark Jamar

could we have rested the big russian across half forward?
answer no what has taken neale so long to leave out the biz and this kid

Its a shame he missed those two set shots because he is usually a delightful kick which he showed later one, one pass to Bate late in the game was a beauty.

Has shown plenty in these last 2-3 weeks, and has repayed the confidence we had in him pre-season.

There's no question anymore I don't think. PJ has kicking skills and mobility - Jamar simply doesn't.

I reckon Biz has been great the last 2 weeks - took some strong marks and has been a great rebound from CHB.

Dont know if anyone remembers and not sure if you can go back and fine it but i said this late last year this kid is way better then the russian. I am so wrapped that he is finally playing like he can i could not see jamar leading like PJ pretty quick for a big guy and if he can rest down in the forward line it would add another tall to cover. Always a pretty good kick not sure what happened when shooting for goal. Big Russian could be drinking vodka on the sideline for a while if PJ keeps it up might take the Number 5 of the back and add 11.

ive said this for a while. next luke darcy.......but better!!!!

How good was PJ's one-handed grab out of the ruck from a boundary throw-in in the first quarter? He then handballed to Trav who nailed it on the run.

Also, the big fist in the centre square which we saw in the second quarter I think. Ala Jeff White back in his hey day.

The scoop and pass to TJ was fantastic. :thumbsu:

As was his leading and marking, shame he couldn't convert either chance, theres plenty of pace there though.

I think its out of Jamar and Neaves for a spot on the list this year, and if Jamar can be traded then all the better. Then we can draft another young ruckman and rookie another one.

Collingwood will take him, Jamar isnt too bad. We'll give you either Ryan Lonie or half a box of Piza shapes, open bottle of Pepsi max and mars ar with a bite taken out of it (is king sized though).

Which ever you prefer.

Seriously though Johnson is good and Collingwood would gladly take Jamar id say.

would definitely be looking at draft picks for him, not some hack that cant get into your side like lonie, egan etc

depending on where you finish perhaps your second rounder which might be around 25-29, i'm not sure if melbourne would accept a third rounder which would be around 41-45, probably would keep him for depth if that was all that was on offer

He is in our best side is coming back from injury, likely to play next week.

lol, players like Lonie are a dime a dozen, big strong ruckmen are not, Lonie is an outside winger/half back that we hardly require

id take a 24 year old ruckmen over a 24 year old outside player any time of the week

We need Jamar as backup incase White or PJ go down. Look what happened in the Semi Final last year!
if we were offered a second rounder for him i would happily take it, we can promote Neaves who is developing nicely and look for another ruckman in the draft or rookie draft

Yeah I would. That team would have to be very desperate but hey we did get a first rounder out of Jolly who had done #### all up until then.

i take it the shapes are out of the question, how about Richards he is about 24 and a ruckman, not very good around the ground but he is a ruckman lol.

Nah i say at minimum a team would have to give up a 2nd round draft pick.

lol, yeh we'll swap a stick ruckman for a big ruckman, good on ya, 2nd round is the going rate id say, ruckmen are worth significantly more then smalls even if they havent done much, see jolly as a prime example
