I looked at Paul Roos age (he is 44) and i know he has atleast 2 kids who must be approaching drafting age (unless he started having kids later in life). Does anyone know what gender they are and if they are any good at Aussie Rules?

I ask because i would love to see another Roos playing for the Swans :D

We don't have dibs on them anyways. Roos only played 98 games for us. :( The Lions have that honour.

Jack (maybe wrong on this name) and Tyler Roos are his kids and are aged about 8 and 12 i think.

Actually we do as you forget that Paul Roos has lived in NSW since 1995 which means that his kids are eligible for the NSW Scholarship scheme and you can guarantee that if his kids are any good the Swans will snap them up.

They both play footy I believe for somewhere on the north shore. Roos was an "assistant coach" or something like that anyway.

ahhhhhhhh. Good point.

Cheers for the correction Nat.

One of the them, I think the older one is more interested in playing basketball than AFL although the older one is playing AFL right now. Odd... thats probably why Roosy will move to the US in 2 years time.

Interesting story about the 'QBE Swans Academy Boys Impress'
http://http://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7106/newsid/125686/default.aspx

"In the Under 18 age group Dylan Roos and Jarl Walker were the strongest performers in the time trial.

Would love to see the young Roos boys pulling on the Swans jumper one day.

Sadly, there's been few indications that either will be good enough to be drafted. :(

I see the Roos family quite often around where I live, stood next to the eldest (I assume) at a cafe while getting coffee, he was already towering over me, not very hard being 5'9" and all... But if he is only 15 then he either started growing early or is going to be very tall indeed...

I've played against Dylan on a number of occasions have played with players like Brandon Jack and Stephen Wray. To me, Dylan and Brandon were quite overrated as they came with such a name to live up to. I didn't think they were that great in all honesty. I captained with Stevie for a bit and he has a lot of potential. He reads the play very well, is great on both sides of the body and is athletic. In terms of players who dominated in local league comps, he was definitely one. Almost Adam Goodes like? Then again, the Sydney competition is barely anything in comparison to other leagues around Australia. To me though, he has talent.

neither are good enough to play afl

no shame in that if true, at least theyre having a crack.. Theres a higher percentage of kids these days that are big fat tim tam munching internet junkies with very sad lives, I would be pretty happy if I was Paul Roos.

... come this time next year, if there is any doubt about the quality of kids coming through the academy/scholarship system to be considered for drafting, I'd rather be a Roos or a Jack than a Smith or Jones!
