MORE than 60 per cent of refugees to Australia have failed to get a job after five years, according to a damning Federal Government report into the humanitarian settlement program.

And 83 per cent of those households now rely on welfare payments for income.

The greatest unemployment rate was recorded among new arrivals from Iraq and Afghanistan, with less than one in 10 finding full-time work and 93.7 per cent of households receiving Centrelink payments.

The statistics are contained in a Department of Immigration and Citizenship report released last Friday under the cover of the royal wedding

This shows a massive failure in our system. Back in the 40s and 50s, the refugees from Europe were put into work camps and released only once health, language and skills were assessed and a job offered.

I'm not suggesting we return to the old ways but working for the dole is a must. It is always easier to find work, when you are working!

Pauline Hanson has declared she won't appear on any program hosted by Weekend Sunrise presenter Andrew O'Keefe because he is too left-wing.

The One Nation leader took to Twitter to slam the morning television show host and nephew of deceased 1960s rock star Johnny O'Keefe.

'Andrew O'Keefe's leftist bias is so extreme he is unwatchable. He's always pushing his agenda so I refuse to go on any of his shows,' she tweeted on Tuesday.
