Would have given Fannings record a shake if we didn't f**k around so much with the ball on the half back line and just got the bloody thing up there.

We now have 5 very winnable games in a row. The playing group has to make a decision as to where they want to be at the end of the year. F**k the coach, just play decent footy.

Pav for captain in 2006!

Belly is a great Captain and is Freo!

But Pav is our future, Captain he must be in 2006!

A masterful performance and shown why is he such an important player. Congrats Pav fantastic work!

I put a long thread on Dockerland a few months ago about Pavlich being captain, but of course got erased by 'shane' like every second post.

Bell has been great, but he has struggled with injuries and his comments suggest that he would be happy to hand it over. Pavlich has presence (ala Roy Keane of Man Utd or Steven Gerrard of Liverpool). He is a leader of men and will embarrass players into putting in more efforts.

Congrats to Matthew Pavlich and to paraphrase Ringo'' were glad you played and yes you passed the audition''

Still got another 7 or 8 years before we trade him to you. And we'll take a top 2 draft pick for him thanks, im sure you'll give another one away by then.

Ha ...watch the game again and at the end Ken McGregor asks him something.. his response'' ill come'' ...lets hope it was about going to the pub to play pool ;)

We wont want another ''Carey'' in 7 years. 2 years tops is all you have left with him...enjoy him and farewell him as your club legend. And in 2 years time you can have a couple of draft picks. We wont do a Port Adelaide and trade 3 picks for a broken down Carr

I might not appreciate Pavlich, but after today's effort you've sure got to respect him. That was one hell of a game he put in.

Also very impressed with the Dockers effort today. After the insipid efforts of recent weeks I was impressed with the overall tenacity and effort of Freo late in the game. Shame you didn't start earlier on.... well maybe not (as a weevil troll I can't like you too much after all ;)).

So you anticipating finishing last in 2007 then? Either that, or I don't think you've thought this through.

??? Thought it through? Of course I have ..did Fremantle finish bottom to get Carr? If someone wants to come home the clubs will trade. I think Adelaide will do the deal. Are you saying Fremantle as a club would send Pavlich to Brisbane? If you did that, and it is quite within your rights , who would want to get drafted by the Dockers ever again?

I wouldn't want to do that IP :). If I was you I'd be very proud of what your boys nearly pulled off today. Was kind of like our game against Essendon last year.

Originally posted by Ripper: The boys dug deep and showed a lot of character today, a lot of teams would have rolled over but we didn't.

I know... that's what makes me want to cry. They started off woefully... then gutsed it out - but still came away empty handed.

Sadly in this game, nearly is not good enough.

Your lads had a crack, a few weeks back in adelaide we rolled over and got hammered by 80 odd points.

Well done, showed some spirit, and if not for the atrocious umpiring that cost you guys a few goals and the stupid goals you just gave up due to fiddling with the pill in the back 50, pavlich nearly got you blokes over the line. You lost me for a while but that last quarter gained a lot of respect from a lot of people, so you have fair reason to be proud and hold your heads high.

No cookies, but at least had a fair crack. All you can ask for, but it beckons the question, why does a team all of a sudden lift for a quarter when they have the ability to play good football for a whole game?

well worth going to the game just to see Pav. Just needs a big of mongrel in him but his marking was awesome. All the talk in the bar was how are The Crows going to get him....Imagine how good the Crows would be with Pav... You guys better pick up before his contract expires ;)

I thought Bock was ok in the 1st 1/2, but Pavlich belted him, & Rutten & McGregor in the 2nd.

Best game I have seen him play & as good a half as I have seen from any forward this year.

Would love to have him.
