To the uneducated Simpletons who profess to know something about the game of football and try to espouse thier lack on knowledge about the Fremantle Football club.
If you meatheade Morons would read and listen to the happenings of the club you would all have realised the Chris Connelly said when he was playing Pav as a mid fielder that he knew he would be a very valuable player as a key position player but the club had to use him in the manner that was best for the club.ON THE BALL.
He has never ever said that Pav is not a CHF or CHB,in fact he played him at various times in those positions. As any educated follower of football knows you play your best footballers where they can give the best to the club.At the time Pav as a mid fielder was the best option for the Fremantle football club, of that there is no doubt.
Now that we have boosted our mid field Pav will be able to settle down at CHF or one of the two major roles in the forward line.I have no doubt as well that from time to time he will be given a run on the ball when the opposition side is struggling there.
To those who belong to other clubs look at your own clubs first then come have a crack.

No use having a gun CHF if you cant get the ball to them. Now we have heaps more depth and power in our midfield Pav has been moved there. Its no big surprise really.

I wonder how 2004 would have panned out if Heathblack's manager had got to the fax machine in time.

Rougly the same I would have thought.
Lack of a centre half back and foward is what killed us.
Pav to CHF and McPharlin fit at CHB we are a entirely different side

I have given this some thought and I believe the whole Pavlich on the ball verses CHF decision was based around the fact that the Freo match Committee decided that Sandilands,Simmonds & Longmuir were in Freo's best 22 and had to be played each week. They had a flash of brilliance we will turn Simmonds into a CHF and play Sandi & Longmuir in the ruck. Which then throws up the dilema where do we play Pavlich. They decided to turn him into an on baller in the mould of Kouta. Once you make a decision like this it is difficult to reverse mid season as all the preseason training and conditioning is geared up around where players are going to play. For example an on baller will do a lot more aerobic / endurance training than a CHF who would focus more on body strength.
I believe this is what drove the whole decision and it did not work and cost us dearly. Hopefully this year with our improved midfield Pav can deliver the goods at CHF.

No doubt the MC were very encouraged by Simmonds kicking 5 goals in round 3 against Scarlett also.

Pav did start forward numerous times last year but ended up back in the middle as the ball was not getting near him.
It may not have turned out the way it did if Heathblack's Manager had got to the Fax machine in time.

I agree Ripper the extra grunt in the middle will make a huge difference & and with the dynamics of having Woods & Murphy playing up forward will certainly give us more options when going forward.

I wish I had the sound clip or written quote to when he said the former, but I don't.

I'm 90% sure that I've heard him say it. 10% leeway for the off chance I'm mistaken, but I'm probably even more certain than that.

Just because you didn't hear it doesn't mean it wasn't said.

Yeah, I remember thinking I hope he does not beleive that.

Dont get me wrong - I think Freo played Pav in the middle out of necessity, it just was a very strange comment to make.

There you go Voodoo ....vindicated from a number of other sources.

I think what CC meant was Pavlich may not end up at CHF when our other KPP fill out. We may find that Pav only plays centre half forward until Polak, Murphy and Thornton fully develop. A forward line in 2007 of-

HF- Schammer McPharlin Pavlich
FF- Headland Murphy Medhurst.

Would strike fear into the opposition.

Cheers.. was sure I had heard it before but you can never be toooo sure.

anchor man.. still the genious you seem to think you are?

Pavlich is slightly more valuable than Embley on the baisis of size.

Though at this point in time I would rate Embley as perhaps the 3rd most influential at your club (Cox, Glass and then Embley).

I would've thought that a bloke called Judd was one of the most influential players in the AFL let alone the Eagles. Cousins isn't bad either when it comes to having some influence on a game!

West Coast have other quality midfielders - no other ruck options (at the moment) and no other real defenders ....it is just a numbers thing
