Luke has had injuries his whole career, I say don't judge on the games they don't play but the games they do and he still plays some damn fine football. It's not like he would be holding out others if he played for another two years even.
Silvagni has played well, sure I'd like to have Mcpharlin around but only if his body is fit and he wants to keep on playing. Silvagni would be an adequate replacement.

I disagree with your comment completely that he hasnt look settled in the last two years and I think he is still more athletic than nearly everyone he plays on.

I was actually saying that luke seems to be struggling more this year as compared to the last two, not that he has been struggling for the last two years. And I agree that Luke off his best is still more than most forwards can handle. :thumbsu:

Luke is a great defender and I want him to stay on for another year or so but I somehow doubt that he will.

Frankly I hope I'm wrong - it wouldn't be the first time. Time will tell I guess.

I did think that earlier today browsing the Saints board. Apparently they're ready to move him along. It will depend whether he can be convinced to move West when he seems to have media ambitions.
Was told by someone 'in the know' that you guys offered a cheeky very late rounder for him last year, to be understandably knocked back.

Supposedly "take this or we'll get him for free next year" was said to the Saints at some point, too.

I'm really struggling to see it happening, although I wouldn't mind it. I think he could just retire and move to America with his missus.

Nothing personal, but I don't buy it. He's been so strong in stating that he wants to be a one team player in the past, I just can't see him going anywhere except into retirement.

Like the idea of it though.

Would much prefer he finishes at the Saints like Pav is at Freo. Just think there would be disappointment for all parties if this came off, I really don't see the value.

Ross and Nick are good friends and keep in touch regularly. In fact Ross went to Nick's wedding in the US last year.

Ross would know if Nick was interested in coming here, to which I am reliably told he is not. So all these stories about we offered this player and that player to get him is a total crock-o-shyte.

My mistake. I still disagree that he is struggling this year. I actually think he has been outstanding apart from the Sydney game. My view is that unlike Glass or J.Brown he is showing no signs of slowing down. Watching the games this year I cant remember too many players beating him on the lead for pace. The fact that Lukey Mac is soooo athletic is the reaon why I think he could play on for a couple more season if he wanted to. I could be proven wrong obviously, but I just cant see him retiring while he is still matching it with the best forwards in the game. Lukey Mac is also a pretty smart man. He will realize that earning 300k plus is pretty hard to do in the outside football world, so making the most of his earning opportunities in the football world would appeal to him IMO.

Awesome newz on Pav.
