No! Not the one of "How can we poach him from Freo to lead us to the Holly Grail" :D but the one on who matches up on him this week. He is looming as the biggest threat.

Rutten is a bit off the boil and to be honest I don't think he has the aerobic capacity to run with Pavlich all day.

I watched Freo's game against Port today and Pavlich was VERY good. While he only kicked 1 goal he dominated accross HF and he got possesions at will. He is their go to man and for a good reason too. Add to that a not too bad a player in McPharlin and you got yourself a bit of a headache with Rutten and McGregor off the boil and Bock out of the side :(

So who plays on Pavlich next week? I guess you have to go with Rutten but are you confident that Rutten can take Pavlich out of the game?

when i first saw this thread i was like wtf....but then read it and like phew....hes going to resign end of this year with him being captain for freo in the making once bellies retierd

Hentschel for me. I would prefer the Truck to be at full back and McGregor moved to full forward. Both McGregor and Hentshcel have seemed out of sorts so fat this year, maybe it's time to swap them.

Maybe but something tells me that Craig will leave the structure as it is now and play McGregor at CHB and Rutten at FB which will probably mean McGregor on Pavlich and Rutten on McPharlin.

Freo also happens to have a pretty under-rated midfield that on their day can beat anyone while IMHO our midfield has been struggling a bit this year. Apart from Edwards and Goodwin the rest of the midfielders have been average.

The structure will probaBLY stay as it is for the first part of the game, bu dont be surprised if Trent goes back if it does not work. I thought that most of our talls this week were disappointing.

If we had some ready made players to take their place Kenny would probably be playing for WWT. Trucks form this year has been average and Sarge has been off the boil for the last two weeks.

I was hoping Chad give me a song Gibson would be inthe BP's againthis wek but unfortunatley he was out with an injury.

Resign eh? Or re-sign ;)

On the news tonight I thought I heard them say "pavlich kicked his first ever goal at football park" against Port tonight. Didn't he kick 8 against us at FP last year or the year before?
Yes against us but it was his first goal at AAMI Staium against Port. In other word before today he has never kicked a goal against Port at AAMI Stadium.

Kenny.
One from left field that i think could keep him out of the game would be Perrie
Not in a million years. Perrie is a very rare forward breed. He is just about the only forward (other than possibly Fevola and Lloyd) that finds it easier to play forward than back.

I admire Sarge but he is a stinker as a defender. I could kick a bag on Sarge. He always got towelled up when he was used as a defender and by average players too.

Keep him in the forward line and don't even contemplate playing him as a backman.

Not so much playing as a defender. more of a tagger, run with, scrapping, second and third effort desperate ball winner, who never leaves his side.
IIRC he played a similar role on hird a few years ago for a couple of quarters. and did OK.
But its Kenny's job.

good question. answer = trent. cant kick a goal to save himself this year in the forwards so move him back to do another riewoldt

Massie

Is the idea to run all day with Pavlich and negate him? Or do we want a player to run off him creating?

Massie has the fitness, playing in the middle at Norwood should point to that. Listed at 187cm and 87kg and Pavlich at 191 and 98kg. Hmmm bit skinny Hentschell 194 and 91kg might be but I dont know

Massie out of left field is my name

Rutten to take McPharlin.

Hentschel to take Pavlich.

Perrie at CHF

McGregor at FF

I'm sure McGregor is carrying an inury at the moment - he's as slow as I've ever seen him, and Pavlich would carve him up IMO.

Hentschel for Pavlich.

Hentschel has been troubled up forward for the past couple of games and appears to be more settled while playing in the backline, whereas Kenny has seemed a tad slow. Place Kenny at FF and he should be able to win a few physical contests.

i think Hentschel is our man for the job

he looked a lot more comfortable down back today (looked out of sorts up forward) and seemed more calm when in the backline.

have Rutten on McPharlin.

Stiffy on Farmer. what a match up that will be!!! stiffy has been in some great form.

still have a few options for the rest of them. should be a good game and I WILL BE THERE CHEERING THE BOYS TO A WIN!!!!

Well at Subi with the wide open spaces Pavlich is going to get good delivery at some point and it wont matter who plays on him.

The key is our ability to pressure the kick to him.
Maybe if we put Basset on him Basset can counter Pavlich's touches with his own leaving Rutten And Mcgregor to nullify the rest.

The way we played yesterday I will be tipping the Fremantle Dockers.

Fremantle over the Adelaide Crows by 21 –30 but it’s only Monday morning and I will reassess my tips come Thursday night after I know who is in and who is out.
