I remember reading that some players Contracts where getting Re-Negotiated because of Ball Front-End Contract, So I was wondering who took the Pay Cut?

They deserve a Pat on the Back for being loyal to the Pies:thumbsu:

Because we don't disclose our contract amounts

cos it's no-one's business
I would like to know who is payed what as you can help who is the Highly Rated Players are and can you fit other players in.

I remember an Article saying the a Few Dees Players would take a Pay Cut to get Ball but I don't know if that happened at collingwood?

What did Ball end up getting over his 2 years ???

Million Dollars but I don't know if we added more years after the 2

i thought they where just back end loading a few contracts. they would still get the same amount in the term of there contract just less in the next year or 2 and more in the rest of there contract.

I doubt if anybody has taken a pay-cut. There may have been some back-loading happening.

If ten players backload their contracts by 10,000 pa each then thats 100,000 saved off this years salary cap. Add in the retirement of Rocca who was no doubt on very big money (probably around 400k) and Ball's salary of 500k (alleged) is paid for.

And yes, its confidential, as it should be. We are only guessing from what we have gleaned from the press.

Rocca was on the vet. list so only half of his pay goes towards the salary..
So if he was paid $400 000 then only $200 000 goes towards the salary cap.

not all

Some pro organisations, for example the San Antonio Spurs dont publicly name the figures or terms of contracts

All statements finish with "Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed."

Im sure there are many more teams like this

This is correct.

Care to expand on this (i.e. where you heard players will be taking cuts)?

Have heard back-ending of contracts is happening but not that anyone will be taking pay cuts.

KW was saying the same. That there was back-ending but NO pay cuts.

I would be surprised if, even after Ball's deal, there is any shuffling required. We should have been front loading just to spend the cap up to now. We haven't had a swag of big name players to fit into the cap for as long as anyone on our list has been playing and we currently have a pretty young list.

Has anyone seen anything other than Bigfooty posting about our cap and any renegotiation of contracts? In fact do we even know what price Ball nominated or whether he even nominated a price? I didn't read much of the papers around draft time so I may have missed it but all I saw was prior speculation and based on the accuracy rate of Carro and her ilk I place no faith in it at all.

I know Clokey was our highest paid player last year.

i would be very surprised if that were true, i heard didak was on $350k, Rocca would have to of been on at least that and Maxwell is the captain so he would get a decent wage. Unless Cloke got himself a good deal the year after winning the B+F i cant see that being true.

You've got to factor in the estimated $400k per year your paying Jolly over the next 4 years as well

Be interesting if Jolly and Ball are your highest earners next year!

True and You are Probably right as you reckon Ball and Jolly will be in the Top 5 Earners at the Club and Could 1 and 2

as i understand it for the past few years our players have been on forward ended contracts, this is because we havent had the cattle demanding the big bucks so we use up all the space we can in the salary cap. then when we brought in two well paid players onto the list it was just a case of reshuffling the timing of players contract details.

Cloke was NOT the highest paid player at Collingwood last year. I've got a little inside knowledge on this one, and that's certainly not the case. There was a lot of work on contracts this year, but not just to secure ball.

Why where we over the Salary Cap?
