I think that $900,000 for Fraser Gherig is outrageous. He's gettin old, has a ton of injuries and when he does play well, he hurts him self in training. Even the best players in the AFL don't get paid that much.

And the eagles suck anyway.

I suspect WCE don't really value him as much as the $900K suggests, but they have to make him a big offer to entice him to stay on the books - then they can do a trade. If he fell out of contract they would get bugger all for him.

They may even have come to an 'arrangement' with Gehrig - agree to trade him, but pump up his price in the process.

BTW - how does it work when a contracted player is traded to another club - does the gaining club have to match the player's salary package for the balance of his contract, do the losing club have to make up the difference if the new club's offer is less, or what?

Hmm West Coast suck do they Richmond. Are you baseing that just on this year, or over a period of time? How many finals appearances have richmond made since 1981, one isn't it? Two if you count this year. Eagles didn't join till 1987, they made the finals in 1988, and from 1990 to 1999 didn't miss. 2 premierships during that period also. So why do the Eagles suck actually? Because they have been a successful club and you are jealous as hell, or because you are and out and out idiot. Did you support Richmond last year when they were crap, or just jump on the bandwagon this year.

Another points Fraser was offered $900,000 over 3 years, not one like you thought you idiot. That equals $300,000 a year. Actually it is very obvious you are an idiot.
