PCM 2025 tonight!

The PCM always seems to produce a fairly random mix of results.

Moore ahead of Battle, Impey, Newcomb and Meek. Just wow. You would have got some odds on that.

It keeps it interesting though. Especially when you dont have dominate midfielders.

Gunners season is one of the most underatededly unbelievable in AFL history. Even he can't believe it.

Pcm isnt a "best on ground" situation. Its voted based on players that play their role, hit kpis etc

Congrats Unc! Winning multiple PCMs is rare air at our great club.

Amon a well deserved runner up after a strong season. Didn’t think Moore would finish that high but he still had a solid year.

Surprised not to see Battle higher (I thought he’d be top 3). Thought he was our most consistent player. Newk probably hurt by the lack of midfield support in the middle of the year.

Good to see Ginni being recognised for a great season and the Wiz also polling strongly.

Plenty of upside with Weddle, Day and Zerrett to be pushing for a top 10 finish next year.

Sam Mitchell speeches are not filled with old cliches and word salad that gives the listener very little.

From day 1, he has been upfront and open to all for criticism.
This is where we are heading and how we will get there. Externals have tried to whack him in pure jealousy, but he really is very well suited to the current footy landscape.

He just has that ‘winner’ mentality you need in a coach, not concerned with external noises.

Keep it up Sammy

Loved Gunner's speech. Had a crack at the young blokes, had a crack at Moore ("I didn't think you had a great year"), had a crack at himself. The Breust part was emotional AF.
He's intense, serious, honest & has a wicked sense of humour
We are lucky to have him again

It was great, but Punky spoke well, too. I really liked him talking about the struggle, how difficult is was for him and how he nearly packed it in. It's a journey and a tough one. A lot for folks young and old to learn from that - grab your opportunities, persistence, importance of mates etc. It was nice to hear the guys not speak in the usual footballer cliches for a change and to see the genuine emotion.

Yep. On the Hawks website.

Thanks.

Completely agree with the full board of votes.

It’s an accurate reflection IMHO.

Remember, the coaches have the time and ability to watch the footage after the game and assess each player according to what is very transparent criteria.

You don’t play your role or get beaten - 0.

Play your role, beat your opponent - 1.

Have a significant influence on the game - 2

Best player(s) on ground - 3

Absolute dominant BOG - 4

Well done Gunner and all other award winners.

Happy to see Ginni get rewarded with a top 5 finish. Much deserved.

Surprised with Moorey being so high but he works his socks off every game.

Worpel’s 20th finish despite playing nearly every game speaks to how highly the coaches regard him and why he wasn’t offered much.

Scrimmers got stuff all votes too.

Yep - obviously the coaches measure Worpel, Scrimshaw and all other players on that 0 - 4 points sliding scale.

It’s actually a very common way to cast votes.

Has been used at elite levels for a couple of decades as I understand it.

If people are scratching their heads,
the key metric the fan may not be able to measure / appreciate is defensive work off the ball and/or opponent responsibility.
