My take on it is they will go with a Lobb and Hogan forward line with Darcy in the ruck and Cox replacing Logue down back. Last week I thought we were a bit too tall and predictable.

McCarthy hit the very top of the left hand goal post with a kick from the boundary ...but yeah, there is a picture of Tabs 20 and McCarthy 23 in Peel colours - unless its some pict. snapped from a game last season.

Those born in the second half of the year will still be at school since they changed the year groups to be from July-June rather than January-December.

Clearly the main priority is getting enough game time into all our players. It's pre-season/JLT, nobody cares about the outcome - players just need to hit their KPIs ahead of round 1. Better to play fringe players in Peel than have them sitting on the bench 70% of the time for Freo in a JLT game. It's annoying from an entertainment pov but understandable from a season prep pov..

Yep, unless he is injured he'll absolutely be playing round one and if we get beaten by North, the entire club will get hammered about it's direction. The coaching staff will then throw an untried small into the deep end, with everyone under pressure to perform.

You’re almost certainly right, however this is absolutely the wrong approach to selection imo.
