What was the context of Duffy's marks? We they contested, on leads or out in space? 8 is a high number for a small.

Surely time for Blakely/Weller/Grey to get a crack at the top level. I think Zac will be back in for Hannath and possibly Mzungu too after those 5 were exceptional for Peel again.

Think in two years' time Moller will be better than Clark. He actually looks like he could play forward too.

Very impressed with his progress since early season.
Bloody hell! That's great!

The training watchers were saying he wouldn't even make AFL grade let alone be a great player just 3 months ago. What's happened?

Just my view from where I was sitting

Thought Duffy was BOG. Missed a couple of set shots but most got taken away by the breeze. He should be next in line for a shot at the next level. I tend to be a bit ambivalent about him but he is a goal kicker and lightning quick, exactly what Freo need.
Taberner was very good. Kicked 4 and gave off at least two that I saw.
Clarke was ok but should have done better on a guy who is 192cm. Kicked a great goal from outside fifty though and tried hard with his second efforts mostly. Moller didn't play much in the ruck but I thought he was the best ruckman and took a few great marks aroung the ground. Hassles and tackles endlessly. Didn't do anything as a forward but Duffy, Taberner and Ugle did all the damage.
Mzungu was better in the second half. Came out after half time like a madman.
Bit surprised Connor got 23 possies. He played half forward for most of the game and was picked up by Micheal Sinclair. He is a terrific defender. Hard to get possies against. Thought Conner tried hard but couldn't dominate like is usually does.
Didn't think Ballard was one of the best on ground as was stated in the waflonline best. He tagged Tropiano and I guess he did ok but had very little impact offensively from what I saw. Can be hard to see everything that happens though when you watch it live. Happy to be corrected. Tropi had 31 possies but I'm not sure how effective, so Ballard may have done his job.
Weller is exciting but made a few errors in the backline. He was a lot better when he went into the midfield in the last quarter. He didn't always kick to advantage though, so it is something for him to work on.
Josh Deluca is starting to show a bit. He is very quick and has a low centre of gravity and is starting to win contests.
Love Brady. He never gives his opponent an inch.
Ethan Hughes seems ok but didn't hit a target once that I saw from my wing.
Griff was good in the ruck but is still not taking marks around the ground.
Tanner was ok. He rarely gets scored against. I think??

My 10 cents

Zac - Another good performance in my view. Did a lot around the ground and rucked. Kicked a monster from outside 50 in the 3rd.
Moller - Continues to impress. Can take a grab can ruck well.
Griff - Rucked well but not a lot of influence around the ground.
Connor - show plenty of class despite some close attention.
Weller - oozes class. Took a real speccie on the wing.
Ballard - good inside but disposal needs to improve
Tanner - a handy lockdown defender. Bit of a zac Dawason type
Mzungu - Freo's best I reckon. He must have run over Ross Lyon's cat or something. Tenacious.
Deluca - flashed in and out. Needs to do more.
Grey - fierce at the contest as usual.
Hughes - bit like Ballard. Needs to work on kicking but a lot to like.
Taberner - bit tentative at first but got better. He seemed to relish the dry conditions. Freo look much better with him raoming the forward line.
Duffy - did really well. I am a big fan of Duffy has that x factor.
Duffield - quite polished

All in all I reckon there is a lot to look forward to at Freo.

It was a cold breezy day at Rushton today with a NE'r blowing down the ground. Close to perfect conditions for footy with no dew or rain that the seniors have had to contend with for the past month or so.
I thought Gu was BOG with a very solid game game in the midfield. According to the Budget, Perth's tallest player, Latch, is 196, but it was the 192cm Borrett who did most of the ruck work. I think Perth were willing to concede the hit outs and gave Latch the task of keeping Tabs in check. As such, Peel dominated the hit outs with Zarke being the best big man on the ground.
People go to the footy for any number of reasons but the highlight for me came in the first qtr. There was a quick kick by bootsma out of D50 and Chalky ran back hard with the flight of the ball, turned at just the right moment, leapt and got a fist to the ball with Tropiano camped under it waiting for the ball to fall into his open arms. It was a very courageous act and just one of the many 1 percenters Chalky does each game. Chalky spent the first half tagging Tropiano with mixed results. Tropiano still racked up some good numbers but mostly under intense pressure from Brady.
I thought Weller was the best of the new guys. In the first qtr Peel went coast to coast to score a goal but it all started with a spearing pass from Weller deep from the back pocket boundary line to Gu in the centre of the D50. It was a brave and well executed kick. In the third qtr Weller won a ground ball in the centre of the ground and kicked deep into F50 where Tabs took a contested mark. Earlier in the second qtr he took a terrific pack mark and had also found Tabs on a good lead with another sizzling kick. A very classy 4 qtr effort from Weller.
Moller didn't have too many highlights today although he did take at least 2 telling pack marks but it was a really solid performance by him, with plenty examples of rugged tackling and a real willingness to contest. I reckon I can say with hand on heart that we now have a bonafide developing tall on our list. He looks more comfortable at FF each week.
Deluca and TV are now solid contributors at WAFL level, I didn't notice Smith, which is probably a good thing. Hughes has gone back to HB flank, he didn't show any ability to find the footy when he played on a wing. He looks much better with the footy coming to him. It was a pretty quiet day for him.
Blakely did his normal thing. I love the way he moves through traffic, he's a bit one paced but I don't think it matters. Sometimes he almost taunts an opponent in congestion with the ball, you half expect him to do a Campesi goose step. I love watching him play.
Duffield was solid at HB but looked quite lively when he went into the midfield, his long kicking is a real asset from the middle of the ground. Duffy had a very good first half but completely went out of the game in the second half. Earlier talk about bringing him in next week seems premature to me.

Excellent report PR. Thanks to all for their reports, much appreciated.

Really pleasing to hear about Moller. Amazing what a bit of confidence does. Nice to finally have a project player show some genuine development.

Also, based on these reports I wouldn't mind seeing us give Weller a crack in the bigs....in place of Danyle Pearce (I'm right off him).

Clarke again in the best with a monster 65 metre goal on the run.Gave an armchair ride in the ruck to the mids.Weller took close to the mark of the year and both him and Blakley in great form.Duff didn't do anything wrong and kicked a nice goal.Duffy was Duffy making the impossible look easy and the easy impossible. Vanderleur kicked a nice goaland is showing improvement and Deluca is also improving and showing a lot of pace .Moller looks like a footballer now and is playing like one.Griff did just enough.
Bootsma continues to impress and has an enormous leap.Good game but against a very average opponent.

So what do we do about this ?
Clarke immediate recall ?
A debut in the Brisbane game ?
Griffin in to rest Sandi next week ?

Like many here, love the reports..... But getting a bit excited about Moller. 2 contested marks a game is pretty much elite at AFL level. Really hoping he goes on with his development and excellent for us.

It was nice catching up with the BF guys that have posted already and I agree with everything they have said .
I went onto the ground and listened to the line coaches talking to the players during the quarter and 3\4 time breaks .
Duffield was making some good points and gave some good advise to the midfield group just like senior players with experience do .
Roger and all of the line coaches were quietly spoken but firm with what they wanted the players to do .
Cam Shepherd is enjoying his job with the team winning and finally is not playing players out of position or ranting on to the players that he wants them to do the impossible .
Matt De Boer was at the game as was Sean Hurley whom I have had chats with before at training .
Hurls injured his hamstring last game against East Perth .His injury is must the same as Michael Johnson but not as bad .
Sean was so excited when they told him to play forward that he ran 16 klms in the game and over did it ,"I love Running so I gave it everything " he said.
RTB was at the game with his kids on the non grand stand side of the oval and just observed .
After the game I got into the change rooms and had a nice chat with some of the boys before Shepherd got the boys together to talk about the game .
The Players came up to the Bar for the presentations and I had a chat with Weller and Craig Moller both are very nice young men and very willing to talk about footy and how they are going .

He is slightly ahead of Weller but I'd rest Pav his hip isn't the best and give Tabs another shot. Clarke for Hannath too.
Given Brissy don't really have a dominant tall forward, we could potentially rest Luke. We might not get too many other chances given our injury woes in the kpd dept.
