How has Tommy Vandeleur been going lately? As a South boy I really want him to succeed and I had high hopes for him early days.
Didn't really notice him that much gaskin but pretty sure he took a strong contested mark and he did kick a nice goal.

I'll make a point of watching out for him next time.

Luke's just had the bye, he missed 2 games earlier in the year, there is a 10 day break between games. He doesn't need a rest yet. He'll need another before finals though.
Agreed, there's no replacement for Luke. Maybe Sandi could be rested with the form of Griff and Zac, but that won't be until Top 2 is a lock, unless he has a niggle. Hopefully the club has learnt from the game against the Saints last year, resting players 'just because ' sends the wrong message. Mentally it's a bad thing.

From Ross's presser they might play Sandi up forward for the whole game this week though. Which could result in Pav getting a week off?

Surely Duffy has been pulled up on this before? Maybe he's been told to play the role of goal kicker, because I can't imagine how he thinks he can ever get a crack in a RTB team without laying a single tackle. The forward pressure and scoring from turnovers is such an integral part of the way we play.

Sharks. Anyone playing West Coast.

He was utterly terrible in the Swans game I saw him play a few weeks ago, but by all reports he's improving.

There is no role of non-tackling-goal-kicker at Freo. Duffy is a seagull. You'd think defensive skills can be easily taught, but maybe not. He will not be playing in an AFL team coached by Ross Lyon. He should ask to be traded to Richmond.

How many BOG's is that now for Gu? He would be in 17 other AFL best 22's I believe.
You're not alone there. But at 11-1 it seems to be one of those cases where the match committee is right and Bigfooty is wrong, wouldn't be the first time either. While we're winning its hard to question, the knives will be out if we lose though.

Breust is a seagull too. Still leads Hawthorn's goal kicking.

Think in two years' time Moller will be better than Clark. He actually looks like he could play forward too.

Very impressed with his progress since early season.
I have been a Moller doubter TBH but will be more than happy to put my hand up and say I was wrong if this comes to pass. Pleased for him and the club that he is making progress at last.

No KPB's will be given a rest until we have a couple of our injured are ready to play . Pav needs to have a break thats for sure and Taberner can cover for him against Brisbane but the question is what team goes to Tassie .

The team that kicked all those goals against us and Sydney and got the 4 points both times?

Not sure you need four defensive forwards who don't kick goals, if you have people in your forwardline who can score goals. Ross has gone back to a purely defensive forward line because very few in the team can kick goals. Balla, Mayne, Deboer and Barlow. Pav has been swamped again and isn't in great form. Duffy can help with that. I also disagree that he had no tackles. He had one right in front of me. It was a good chase down.
I don't know if Duffy is the answer but I would like to try something. The forwardline we had on thursday night is only suitable for a wet night. I certainly hope it doesn't stay that way. Relying on midfielders to always score the majority of your goals is also fraught with danger.
Duffy creates scoring opportunities, he doesn't hold it in there for twenty minutes hoping someone jags one on the 40th attempt.

Ridiculous comment.

Firstly talking down Richmond, the only team that has beaten the top 2 teams. (edit: Sydney are 3rd now, but you get my drift) :drunk: Secondly if Duffy is so anti-defensive why did Ross and the selection committee select him for two games last year? Was he able to defend last year but not this year?

Lastly nobody would say our current defensive minded forward structure is working well, even Ross has said our offensive output needs to improve. Maybe a selfish goal hungry seagull like Duffy would compliment a defensive forward like Mayne or Ballas.

I know it's been brought up before, but 7-24 free kick count? How is that even possible in a game you've dominated? A dozen frees against for high fend offs?
I have been a Perth supporter since I was a kid, but even I knew the umpiring was biased. If there is such a thing as sympathy umpiring, yesterday was it.

If Mayne and Ballas are there for defensive pressure and aren't kicking goals then surely someone like Duffy will be able to finish the work off for them. He's shown that he has a knack for kicking goals, who cares if he's a seagull at this stage while we are trying to improve our offensive output. I wouldn't mind trying him.

One particular ump seems to have it in for Peel. The small blonde Hitler youth look alike.Noticed he has been added to the AFL senior panel.Heaven help Freo if he ever gets a Dockers game.

I thought at start year he could improve fast, always had skills and speed. With the Giants now struggling with injuries & big mummy out any thoughts giving Zac 1st ruc & lurch ago as 2nd ruc forward with our normal mid field, would be good to see.

Pav literally just had a break..
Pav needs to play against Brisbane & their young defense to kick a few goals & hit some form.
Maybe he doesn't go to tassie though
