Zac Strom 22 yo 197cm 97kg reminds me a bit of Jenkins. Young enough to be a chance at the next level? Seems a real competitor
Was impressive today and he moves well for a big fella but was just looking at his stats and they aren't great. He'd want to improve a lot to make it at the next level.

Pav will play - likely his last game on the MCG.

Tucker might come out, quiet game, no possessions after half time I don't think. Maybe Langdon for Tucker as well as Hannath for Smith. Although thought Igbo played a decent game too.
Please leave Tucker in. Tabs, Blakely, Weller, Tucker, Collins and Langdon should play every game for the rest of the year.

Watching Ibbo today he offers us nothing that we need. If Crozier, Spurr or Sutty weren't available then maybe he'd be an option. Otherwise we need to leave him and his indecisive mind well away from what we're currently providing.

I agree - hope the MC see it that way as well.

If he played well then he's no longer 'Igbo' is he!

Not a game for the faint hearted today .For those bagging the umpiring it was bad for both sides . Deluca WTF the umpires gave a decision that was just plain wrong but to verbaly abuse and continue to argue on both occasions stupid , in the second instance to make contact with the umpire is unforgiveable , he knew that the umpire was not going to change his decision .No umpire is going to take that so the 50 meters was an automatic . He couldn't be dragged as we only had 1 fit interchange player left on the bench .
Worst news is to follow with the injury list growing by 4 this weekend .Uebergang hamstring ,Grey ankle ,DeBoer knee to go with Smiths hammy .
On a lighter note I had Sam Collins and Alex Pearce for company in the stands . Sam is a really nice kid and Alex the same .
Alex on Crutches . I caught up with Silva , Apeness and wished Yarren all the best for the game . Mike has a plate on the collarbone . While on the ground at 1\4 time break I said hello to Bennell ,he was up beat and just urging the boys on .
With no ruckmen available Peel promoted a Colts player to be the only Ruckman and he not only competed well but rucked the whole match .He gave Mason Shaw a contest all day Nicholas Merritt (Sauce ) to his friends N0 17 this kid could be something else in time .

Jesus Coulda I didn't know the assistant coach fraternised this much with the players.

Wow, I didn't know that about Merrit. Very good game by him against Tugboat.

Jesus Coulda I didn't know the assistant coach fraternised this much with the players.
I was sitting in the stand when Sam and Alex sat next to me .I have regular conversations with Mike and Silva both at training and Peel games . Nic Merritts dad was sitting in front of me and we had a good chat both before and during the game .I congratulated him on his sons performance .
At 3\4 time I went onto the ground and Mathew Uebergang had the Hammy iced ,I gave him a pat on the back and gave him best wishes he replied "no worries I'll come back better and stronger" .
Mate if you get to the Peel games and sit in the stands ,be pleasant and not to vocal players are happy to talk to you especially if they have seen you at training as well.
I enjoy their company and never afraid to say hello.:):thumbsu:

Brock Higgins was BoG by miles. Merritt tried hard but Hannath or Clarke play and Peel win.

The 50 against Deluca when he went spare was fair enough. But so was Delucas reaction. The South player Kelly grabbed Deluca around the neck and threw him to the ground. Free kick to Kelly. Players shouldn't have to accept that crap.

Also and I'm not a fan of Deluca but the South Freo player Verrier came in and shoved him whilst he was going balls out at the umpire and that was the reason he bumped in that umpire. They replayed it on TV a few times.

Just finished watching the game

Brady Grey was by far our best player, followed by Bell who was terrific and then Langdon.

Langdon is very good at being in the right place at the right time it seems, good to see him kick a bag but i can definitely see why he was dropped from AFL level, he needs to be more accountable for a player rather then just peeling off, it worked today but at AFL level he may get found out. Back into the team after the bye if his next 2 weeks are good.(Grey too if his ankle isn't bad)

Deboer was invisible, Ibbo was too slow at decision making but i have a feeling it's because there was noone to kick to up the ground with Ueber off, Yarran extremely rusty and that Thorne kid being comepletely useless anywhere but the goalsquare. Ibbo should know to pump it long in those conditions though.

Mzungu should be renamed to mzungtwo because he never took a possession in one go, always fumbles and has two touches.

Deluca probably won't make it but atleast he seems to care out there, gives it his all and had about 4 or 5 really strong chases where the south player barely got their kicks away, on another day he probably would have earnt a couple more frees through his great pressure.

The Peel ruck played pretty well in the first half but completely faded from the game (he was a first gamer so its expected) and the South ruckman absolutely dominated us, he would have had about 10 clearances in the last half, if Hannath played this would have been a different match imo

Bootsmas was pretty decent, Ugle was invisble, that calvin kid that gets hyped up in here was terrible, Obrien is a momentum killer he can't kick the ball 40 in the wet and every time he gets it he takes forever to get a kick away, needs to practice quick hands and handballing in general because i don't think one handball of his hit a target.

that last point about the handballing goes to most of the freo players too, need to learn to get their hands up in a tackle and get the hands out because it was reminiscent of our AFL team in the first 8 rounds this season, missing handpasses by a mile and killing momentum.

Overall i was pretty dissapointed by our players, was expecting a lot more. We desperately need Silvagni back to steady the backline and definitely need a ruck to play if we make the finals.

Yarran played like a bloke trying to tick a box in his rehab. Not sure RTB would be overly pleased.

Plenty lauding Igbo, but you can see why he's out, just doesnt think quick enough.

Muz had a heap but some fumbles were crucial.

Bell has some go but I'm not sure there's enough there for a rookie listing?

First look at M Shaw, he's John Butcherish. Can see why Port cut him, cant carry two.

Calvin had not been with the team for more than 2 week, consider he is young and weather bad I will give him benefit of doubt today .but to fair to you ,you only watch a few match he play also.

Harsh considering most players were fumbly and it was pretty wet.

yep terrible today but i'm not saying he is always terrible, I only get to see the games that are on TV due to work so I can't comment on his other games. Conditions definitely were not suited to a player of his build.

Harsh but fair i would say, don't think he had a clean pickup once, whereas other players were at least 50/50
I probably mark him harshly because i remember just how good he was for us for the past 5 years but it really has been a big fall within the span of a year for the Gu, His marking and clean touch game used to be some of his best traits but they have both dropped off so much, just frustrating to watch as he was a player i was always fond of.
Writings on the wall now with his age but i hope he makes it back into the team for at least a send off game
