Afl games played this year;

Nyhuis 0
Deluca 0
Balic 0

Hannath 2
DeBoer 4
C Pearce 4
Silvagni 5
Apeness 5
Mzungu 5
Hughes 5
Yarran 6
Collins 12
Tucker 12
Griffin 13
Clarke 13
Langdon 13
Suban 15
Blakely 15

Personally I think a cutoff of 5 WAFL games isn't right, it should be a combo of say no more than 10-12 AFL games but must have played 8 WAFL games too. We'd have 11 guys under the 10 AFL games which feels about right to me.

All you need as a maximum number of AFL listed players - a dozen or so would be fair.

The other wafl clubs signed of on the regulations

I would of thought more than 5 games as a minimum requirement would of been negotiated
I doubt that put much thought in to it. 5 games to qualify for finals is fairly standard across all leagues that I have played in. i reckon that just kept that running with the WAFL.

Personally I agree with what others have said, must play a minimum of around 8 WAFL games, about half a season and then disqualified if they have played more than 10 AFL games.

I agree with you saying 8 wafl games it sounds fairer for the comp.

I didn't realise that 5 games was standard across the other leagues. If that is standard then I don't sympathize with people complaining about Freo players who have qualified this year but happy for an increase for next season.

The SANFL and VFL have tougher restrictions than the WAFL apparently. No doubt the WAFL will alter theirs for next season.

Yep that works. But I am awaiting the total overreaction if Peel win. It's laughable because it is a blue moon event which occurred because of our amazing drop off in the AFL. DeBoer, Mzungu and plenty of others won't even be there next year, it will be a bunch of kids that will probably be penalised.

I think according to those rules;
Griffin, Clarke, Langdon, Suban and Blakely would have been ineligible. But the first three players mentioned would only have been one AFL appearance above the cutoff, so the club would have probably manipulated the appearances so as to maximise the number of players fronting up for Peel in the finals anyway.
I don't think an adoption of VFL rules would have stopped the whingers this year.

The thing is without Freo and WC handouts the WAFL clubs would be down the toilet. This outrage from the other WAFL clubs is so hypocritical. They have no problem taking the two AFL clubs dollars. The only strong WAFL club financially is Subi and thats because of the deal they have with Domain. Subi's members area rakes in the dollars during the AFL games. Its the reason Subi are so strong and are looking at a three peat. Where is the outrage over Subi's financial deal.

Nothing stops the whingers

And that's why they have played in 10 of the last 14 Grand Finals. The club also receives 500 seats at every AFL game at Subi to resell.

Exactly. The best thing that could happen for the comp is Subiaco not winning. I hope Peel destroy them.

I used to be a member of Subiaco because it came complimentary with my annual fee to use the squash courts inside the ground. I used to work just down the road, so it was convenient. I felt a bit dirty. Received their annual reports and was shocked to see the financials. They had huge profits and were better off than many AFL clubs.
