The kick that Weller struggled the most with last season at WAFL level was the one into the forward fifty. His kicking in the back half was an absolute ton better. Sheridan's disposal is massively underrated by most on here. Id rather him kicking into the forward fifty.

Not hitting targets in the forward fifty could be due to a number of factors.

Forwards not leading to the best areas.

Pressure on the ball carrier.

In his highlight package for under 18s his kicking into the forward 50 was exceptional. I'm sure he can execute this at afl level.

Rory O'Brien has not officially joined Peel yet but has the East Fremantle's blessing to do so, they just need to sort out some form of trade/transfer fee. You would think that he would be a more than suitable replacement for Jones as captain.

Agree , I think we are assessing his attitude for another season, also see how sigvani Johnson injury hold up , with retirement in mind. If perform worth a spot in freo line up for 2017 or rookie list

On a slightly related not to your post I really like the idea of Weller playing back for a year or so. I agree we lack a small defender with elite pace.

Both are quick. Im not sure you could say it is acknowledged that Langdon is quicker than Weller over short distance. They both ran 2.92 for 20metres when tested before drafting. I thing Langdon has better endurance though. Id like to see him on a wing when he plays for the afl team.

Are we sure that Port St Kilda Melbourne (for Melksham) and Bulldogs will get compensation. It may be that they only get an allowance to elevate 1 or 2 rookies to Senior list as they haven't been decimated like Essendon. The rookie strategy was first mentioned for Essendon then they have the allowance to take up to 10 players from elsewhere/Other Leagues. If anyone was going to select Bootsma they would have in the Rookie draft but did he even nominate?

It's already been decided that the other clubs can elevate one rookie per player banned

Langdon was playing half forward and even chf for Peel last season. I don't think Freo have plans on him playing back.

He's a natural forward/wing

Thank for info. To be honest that is more of the rubbish that got the afl into this situation. They way they handle everything is all about making the afl come out in the best possible way. How the hell can the team that caused the problem get a better deal than the team that recruited a player, but had no role in the indescresion? Rubbish behaviour by the afl again.

I go into bat for Langdon a ton more. Actually had a poster abuse me because I had the nerve to suggest it might be a bit over the top to predict Weller would be a shitload/deadset ton better this season than B.Hill was in his second year. The poster stated that their view was formed on watching Weller play the grand total of six and a bit quarters of football. Strange times indeed on this board.Weller will ba really, really good player IMO BTW.

Although he would appear to be, he isn't.

I'm not saying he is better than Langdon. I'm stating where the club has played him. Weller played off half back against Port and played well.

Training only saw Weller train a bit at back , Langdon wing or HF not sure why ?as you mention Langdon is quicker.
