We need Clarke to be rested for an extended period of time and have him do everything to get his knees back into better shape .He has to have both knees strapped just to train so what the heck let the medical team go to work on him , sort out whats wrong and look forward to him coming back in great shape for next year. Before he injured his knees he was coming along fine .There is no point putting games into him in his current condition .

Sarcasm mate, sarcasm ;). We're screwed in the ruck man department, why did we even delist Moller if Clarke was only on a one year contract? Granted he was raw and lots of development left, but it's better that then relying on a 30 year old Griffin and Sandi.
This could be the time to go after someone like Kruezer.

This might be a really smart idea. But I'd only do it if he re-signs first. Tell him to sign a contract for next year/2 years, give him a bunch of time off from footy, all the music festivals have been cancelled so that's not an issue, then come back fit & ready for 2017

Clearly his knees are a big problem seeing him on the track, wonder if there is something that can be done under the knife! Would reduce any trade value, but assuming he stays, I imagine would give him a pre season, then give him a run up start to the season proper.

There was no point, the US boys are all over 196cm. The new talls are no longer talls but 190cm speed machines .;)
Allegedly Collingwood are paying ~$500k/year for Mason Cox. Big biccies for an unknown quantity. May pay off for them, but even after his exposed form I don't know if I'd go down that route.

I'd wait and see how Hurley's going by the end of the year before deciding on another international rookie anyway.

The chances of us getting a good US rookie are so low anyway. Most struggle with just the shape of a footy let alone how to play the rest of the game.
Most Americans have played American Football which uses a similar shape ball. They might not be much chop at kicking it, but ruckmen rarely are anyway.

I think his issues are PCL based, surgery isn't really necessary or recommended

why would they play him as a ruckmen?
he seems to be winning the ruck battles and all, but surely he has more to offer a side in the forward 50 ... could dominate reserves if they get the ball there?

His stats have stalled. Hopefully he's just resting and not injured.

Interesting though that since his stats went quiet, Peel got back into the game

Apeness up to 33 hitouts (3/4 time). Look like he i still out there and doing what he needs to in the ruck at least. Should be able to play 1s next week and get a run in the forward line :)
Looking at WAFL stats on your phone doesn't show hitouts. I thought 7 tackles and 2 marks sounded exactly like a Freo forward. But being in the ruck gives it a different spin.

A lot of Freo Key Position players having time in the ruck, looks like we are planning for the post Griff and possibly Clarke era.
