Did Percy slide over to him at 1/4 time break to give him some advice?;)

Dunno, Got it from his weekly WAFL segment on Monday mornings on Sport FM. Not sure what his reports are based on, but he generally seems to attend Claremont games.

I do recall earlier in the year he referred to Colyer as a fumbler and said he had that habit as a junior.

Never know what you'll get with Percy though. In a couple of weeks time he'll be saying Colyer has been outstanding and Fremantle should bloomin' well be giving him a game.

So at 86 he's a sports commentator as well. All hale Percy! :D

He's Claremonts goal kicking and ruck specialist and always attends games and the huddles.

I'm impressed because he got unreliable goal kickers to become accurate over the last three years and the young players really listen and value his advice. Was told he has no problems in keeping up with the modern game.

I'm advocating for another WA legend Austin Robertson to become our goal kicking specialist. We seem to be too arrogant to think we need help in that department and someone on here thinks he's a has been. Like to see someone call Percy that!

Has O'Reilly had a handpass at league level yet?

Or kicking for goal.

It is a bad thing if he has been playing almost exclusively forward (which he has) and of his 60 odd kicks in league for the year that he has only kicked a single goal.

I still reckon that he is tracking as one of the worst recruits we have had in some time and stands as a counterexample of the following points that are raised ad nauseum on this forum:

(1) Always draft sons of past Freo players; and / or
(2) Always draft Western Australians.

Anyway he is playing back this weekend and Dixon forward...at least on paper, so hopefully he has a few more handballs and useful possessions.

You don’t get a prize for making an early call. Kid hasn’t even been on our list for half a year.

Been a mix of back and forward.
Was certainly playing back last week. Also played full game backline a few weeks back when I went and watched. The week before on telly he started back and then got moved forward. Took a nice grab in the goal square.

From my observation he has played more back than forward.

Alex Pearce has been given assistant coaching duties down at Peel and is working closely with Dillon. There was a picture on the club website from 3qtr time huddle with Pearce talking directly with Dillon and the other Peel players watching on in the background.

Very early call. The first game I watched him on TV he looked pretty ordinary. Very cumbersome and untidy. Then in the last quarter he moved forward and took a nice grab and I went hang on...

I think from memory that was his first or second game of Peel league after being drafted, then having a mini pre-season and then playing two reserves games.

The game I watched live soon after he was much better. Very tight defender.

The game on the weekend gone was the one Pearce coached with him and Dillon was named 3rd best and played on Tom Lee, see WAFL comments:
Dillon O’Reilly: Played back on Tom Lee for the game in a good matchup. Lee ended up with two goals but Dillon was good in his one-on-ones. He was also able to take a couple of good contested marks and he set up some good rebound from defence.

No wonder none of these kids are getting a game in the firsts. First time I’ve really watched O’Reilly play, doesn’t even look WAFL grade. Hopefully I’ve just caught him on an off day.
