About a half hour after the decision was announced this morning, I checked cnn.com to see if anything had been reported. It had. The headline was in bold letters. I have been checking foxnews.com all day and nothing. I guess it's not as important as Trump's new grandchild's birth or Larry King's new divorce. Who owns foxnews.com?
Hard to fit it in between the ( STILL !! ) bitching about Obama and attacking AOC

So does the bloke at the tram stop raving about how CIA trained aliens are talking to him through the TV.

In fact, at this rate. his bulls**t is more acceptable because he has an excuse for it.

What's yours?

1. Initial story had offence occurring in mid afternoon. That’s plausible as place was deserted.

2. I don’t actually believe that by and large victims make up stories. Some do. Most don’t.

3. An Initial investigating cop has a history of manufacturing evidence in sex abuse cases. You can look that one up yourself for names. It’s not hard. Start with a Greek politician.

4. I reckon it’s possible that said cop said “That blokes dead but if you change the time and the perpetrator we can get the big guy”.

5. And if you think that’s implausible take a glance over at the Royal Commission.

The church is excluded from taxes
The church is excluded from discrimination laws
They must be surprised they aren't excluded from laws regarding kiddies. After all, why pull them up now after all these centuries?

I'm really surprised anyone would want to join the organised pedophile ring that is the church

Here we go, beauty.

So VicPol stitched up George.

Why would they do that?

Why would they risk taking on the might of the Murdoch media, and the limitless funds of the Church, to try and fit George up?

Also, if ... I'll go down to the tram stop here with you ... why do they decide to fit George up on THESE charges?

Because we both know there's been many very credible accusations against George over the years.

Tell me why VicPol and the DPP have gone to all this trouble and risk?

And why ROBERT RICHTER and BRET WALKER couldn't pick holes in the witness testimony if the coppers have put him up to it?

There is also evidence that the catholic church has a long large history of denying sex abuse and child abuse exists.

Maybe if Pell claims that violating kids is part of his religious belief and infringing on his religious belief of fiddling kiddies is discrimination, then maybe he might just get off?

Afterall, if you tell me now that molesting children is part of a core Catholic belief, I can believe you

I thought it was odd when Pell made the statement after his arrest that he would look forward to having the opportunity to clear his name in court, and then he and his defence counsel chose for Pell not to give evidence and be cross examined.

The verdict seemed to hinge on what turned out to be compelling evidence of the surviving boy who witnessed what happened, and who was believed under cross-examination of the best legal defence the Catholic Church could buy.

Why wouldn't the defendant (Pell), allow his character to be his witness and give evidence as a counter; let the jury hear his own words as to why they should believe he is innocent.

Seemingly because either;

1/ he had to lie under oath after swearing on a bible which was not compatible with his faith, or;

2/ he had to tell the truth

Yep!

Start with the premise that 2 choirboys, still in their gear, are going to decide to get into the altar wine straight after Mass at the Cathedral when everyone is going in and out of the sacristy. I mean that's 2 pretty ******* dumb choirboys. It's not "high jinx". You're definitely 100% going to get caught. I mean to not even have one of them looking out?

But I'm the delusional one.
They are kids, you moron. Kids do dumb things without thinking about the consequences.

Operation Tethering commenced without a complainant 3 months after Graeme Ashton was exposed for lying by the Church at the Vic Parliamentary Inquiry.

Why? Because I don’t believe a bloke committed a crime?
Um! More because having not been present during the events in question ; not having been at any of the trial; not accepting the verdict of 12 of his peers; and not accepting the majority judgement of the Court of Appeal judges - the two most senior and experienced btw.

You have blind faith, nothing more.

I doubt his faith or lying under oath would deter this monster

He was probably most afraid of unraveling when put under cross examination, and his bluster and lies can no longer save him

VicPol are clearly not perfect and have their own list of problems at the moment.

VicPol had very little to do with the trial or appeal outcome though.

Wasting tax payers money putting this campaigner in jail I don't condone the things he supposedly did but what a waste. The bloke is 78 years old just lock him up him in a nursing home

He's basically going to one with a lock on the door.

It's taxpayers money very well spent & sends a message that no matter how powerful you are, you are not above the law.

I doubt the victims & their families would be happy to just put him in a nursing home.

Do you have the same reasoning for all aged criminals, including Ivan Milat...
