The Catholic Church has made a real mess with their response to this issue when all they ever needed to do was reach out to the victims and look after them meanwhile fully assisting the police to identify those that needed to be punished for their crimes.

How should they have done that? Ask for reports? Offer compensation with a minimal level of proof? Pay for counseling?

Apart from this case and three involved with touching in the water, one of which accuser admitted may have been accidental. Case above they found holes under cross examination.

Regardless I was talking about for someone who must have had extremely impulsive violent uncontrollable urges such as Pell is accused in ‘96 case.

I would have thought there would have been far more similarly violent accusations, or having displayed such risk, surprised he hasn’t been caught in the act.

I mean a normal human would expect that to happen in a circumstance outside the Church, but the revealed facts show it to be a rarity inside the church.

Getting away from the issue of child abuse, physical and sexual, for a moment, the most recent revelations of worldwide abuse of nuns by the clergy within the Catholic church, clearly and succinctly put to the Pope, are stark evidence that physical and sexual abuse of persons within their control is endemic within the Catholic church, if not all churches.

Religious entity such as the mainstream Abrahamic religions and "cult" religions alike have had a 2000 years infatuation with sex, it's repression, demonisation and control, all the while allowing the most perverse activity by their own practitioners to go virtually unseen let alone unpunished.

The hypocrisy of particularly the Catholic church is of such epic proportion as to require a new group of words to convey it.

Of course the died in the wool Catholics will find a away to blame Satan, as the Pope has already thoughtfully suggested.

He, the Pope, seems to be missing to fact that his God stood by and watched, at best, and actively planned everything which happened at worst and intended every bit of terror.

The Pope should be made to explain what hand his God had in this.

Seems his part-time God is only every implicated in the niceties?

The fact is the Pope and the Catholic church will remain as long as there are uneducated, desperate and gullible people for them to prey on.

If there is no lack of evidence then why would you question my comment that the church should have done better.

You are yet to show how you can be so absolutely certain that Pell didn't commit either offense that he has been found quity off.

The only way you can know for a fact that Pell is guilty or not is if you were there when the alleged event took place.
