Notice how the victims looked directly at the interviewer. Both are mental wrecks due to the abuse & one has sadly died of alcohol abuse... & gather the reason the 2nd case against Pell was dropped.

Compare to the arms crossed body language of Pell & how he looked down rather than at the detectives much of the time.

So much smoke & similar patterns from completely unrelated witnesses over a long period of time. Why would so many all make it up?

I hate to think how many innocent people have taken their lives, often after drugs or alcohol abuse after being victims of Pell over the years.

Hope those who have survived & their families have got a small comfort from the conviction.

I don't know anything of the Shorten case but he hasn't been convicted nor has the lady moved civil case against him that I am aware off whereas Pell has been found quilty.

Pell had public accusations hanging over him for at least 17 years before conviction. The wheels of justice for sexual abuse cases tend to move slowly.

Pell was an unconverted rapist until a few months ago, despite a number of allegations swirling over him for years. Only one of the accusations has been substantiated.

His accusers never walked back their accusations, and neither has Shorten's. Where did you stand before Pell's conviction?

I wasn't aware of all the witness evidence on Pell until after the conviction. I judge everything on its merits.
