You're right, we don't know exactly what Portelli said, or even his explanation. The C/A will decide whether or not it prefers the complainant's evidence to that of Portelli, as the jury apparently did.
We shall all just have to wait and see.
Isn’t that the point Weinberg was making though? And I’m continuing this not to win but because I’m enjoying the discussion. Was Weinberg not making the point that it was more than just preferring one bit of evidence to another? Does there not need to be some matter to Portelli’s discredit such that his evidence can be discounted entirely?
