What is Pendlebury's chance of getting a serious midfield gig in 07?

Not completely sold on him yet. Has that half paced look about him which can be very good, ( Simon Black ) or very very annoying, like he's not really that interested.
The good news for pies fans is that he seems to have a huge potential upside to his game, but seeing some real desperation would be nice.
I realise that he's only a kid and he needs time to fill out and gain a hardened A.F.L bodyshape, but plenty before him have never taken that expected step.
This is a big call, but I think that might be one of the craftiest acts I have ever seen on a football field. He looked a talent from the first time I saw him but he won me big time with one act. His steal and disposal from Paul Williams
He has to become an inside mid, with the logic being that for a guy who always has time and space with the ball, if he can create that inside, then he will be of the utmost value to the team.
I don't think you'll find him under the packs, but that's okay, because not everyone can be, but if he can be the guy that the handball gets to and he makes sure it turns into a Collingwood uncontested possession, then I have no problem with him.
Nick Dal Santo-like in that respect.
Disagree with all of this - Dal Santo is not that outside, he just makes it look that way.I think Pendlebury will be much more valuable inside the contest where as Dal Santo is very much an outside player. I see Pendlebury's ball gathering to be more in the style of Daniel Cross who is one of the most under-rated players in the competition.
He is a similar type, although I dont think he's shown us all his tricks yet like Dal Santo has.
Dal Santo averaged 10 touches in his first year, "Tacklebury" averaged 13.
Dal got 18 touches or so in his second, I reckon this is roughly what output we will be looking for out this year for Scotty with a better fitness base and more time in the middle...
Keep in mind that Dal Santo averaged 10 disposals over the course of 18 games. Which is a fair amount of AFL experience for his first year (2002).
In his second year he averaged 19.2 disposals yet only played 8 games. It wasn't until 2004 he stepped up a gear, played a full season and averaged 22.4
