Its called confidence. I actually liked the way he got around 4 of them. Just that fifth one got him, but getting around 4 of them, is an exciting thing, coz he was confident. Definetly impressed, puts a bit more bulk on, could be a chris tarrant???maybe....Dal Santo mixed with Tarrant,, ooooooo *FERGA CALM DOWN*

got around 4 of them? are you referring to that holding the ball in the last quarter?

if you think there were 4 players that he got around.... go to an optometerist asap ;)

His miskick in the middle was due to cramp.

Ah, that's right. I remember that now, I did see him stretching his calfs a little after that run.
I do see his potential, but I don't think he had a great debut... nothing like Dale's. Just my opinion though, I'm looking forward to watch him improve.

Imagine this:
Fraser taps it down to Pendlebury, dances around a few in a pack, feeds it off to a running Thomas who delivers beatifully to T.Cloke who passes to a blistering lead from Rusling.

BTW we are playing at Subi so it would take that much to get it down the ground.

He's no Thomas though.
Being a bit premature don't you think. I remember Thomas' first game againt the Saints in the NAB Cup wasn't all that flash.

Coming from an elite basketballing backround pendles would have tremendous hand-eye coordination which means he has skill and he would great awareness of what is around him and what is going on! This translates to his excellent work in heavy traffic! He is of athletic build and is very quick, all he needs is a couple of preseasons and he will prove to be the best pick of the draft! My only query was that as a basketballer he may not be the toughest player out there, but on saturday he did nothing to prove that he was weak. In fact the way that he stood in the hole with a rampaging brown breathing down his neck is proof that he is not scared. ANd at no point was he worried about getting tackled or hurt, if he was he would fumble and rush kicks (ie. ryan lonie) he just sizes everything up and gets the :D:D:D:D out of there! tremendous talent great vision a born play maker/extractor/gun!

His miskick in the middle was due to cramp. It was also his quick feed out of a pack that set up a goal for Buckley. That is what you can expect from him constantly, quick feeds out of packs that set up plays. When he got caught by McGrath it showed exactly what our youngsters have been taught to do by Richardson, and that is show some flair. It's what we want, it is what has gotten us to the position we are in now. Just wait until he gets used to the pace of the game. He will be a superstar of the competition and every bit as good as Dal Santo.

Like you Dundalis the two things that stood out for me about Pendlebury were his quick gives out of congestion and his preparedness to take on the opposition - and Akermanis is about as good as they get in terms of agility. I don't think there is any gain to be had in comparing him to Thomas. For what its worth I think that the work in congestion of Pendlebury is the most important thing we need. But more importantly we have two very good young players, and maybe a few more waiting in the wings.

On a completely unrelated note I would like to withdraw any previous negative comments I may have made re Didak. In the past he has appeared to me to be a flashy player lacking in consistency. His performance when things got tough on Saturday night was inspirational - whether it be clearing from the middle or chasing his guts out to put pressure on the Lions ball carrier. Easily the best game he has played for us IMO.

looks skillful but soft like thomas hope we dont end up with a lot of pansies and no one geting the hard ball..

Just wondering, does anyone know how many possys he was averaging in the VFL?? Are there any sites that actually give more in depth stats for the VFL than football victoria?

Wrong! Won the hard ball and backed into a leading Jonathan Brown to take a couragous mark.

Someof out other recruits this year are not only talented, but tough! Exiting times ahead for the pies derro.

Have you ever watched a game of football? How could you describe either of those two as soft? But thank you. When people tell me that Collingwood supporters are brainless I now have some understanding of what they are talking about.
