No I'm off the belief you need a leader that's smart off the field as well as on the field like Maxwell. Great speaker the fans want to hear, great leader on the field,
Rallies the troops as well as a good football brain on the field. Not necessarily the best player.

And how many of those do we have right now......none

Ricky Ponting was terrible off field when he was young and came accross as not the sharpest tool in the shed. He became an exceptional off field leader as he matured(not so good tactically on field)

Have you heard Craig Bellamy speak? If you did not know who he was you would assume he was as dumb as dog poo yet he is one of the most exception leaders in the country.

I agree it does not have be the best player.

I think your being a little harsh and judgmental on Adams. Still very young and with some communication and media training in a couple of years he might be ok.

From the after match interviews I've seen of Adams they were bloody embarrassing mate. He was struggling to put two words together. Reminded me of Cloke talking about smoke and mirrors. An utter embarrassment.

Maybe I am being too harsh on Adams and maybe he can improve in that area but I'm not convinced about him being our next captain.
