they are both completely different players and i like them both. daisy is more exciting and can do the freakish where as pendles just has the silky skills and class written all over him, either way, its a win win

Last I heard, Thomas (as well as Fraser and a few others) still had to be re-signed. I know there's a view that you don't rush these things but I'll feel a whole lot better when these guys put pen to paper. Anybody know what the latest is with negotiations?
Btw, did our recruiters ever get it right with Pendles?! Most thought we were mad to pass on Ellis and had Pendles late 1st-round (at best).

His name is Martin Clarke.Completely different players - To use a comparison of recent teammates, Pendles will be more like Simon Black, while Daisy will be more like Jason Akermanis.
It's impossible to compare their value, because Simon Black will go a long way to ensuring that you are competitive in every game you play, while Jason Akermanis will actually win you games that you wouldn't otherwise have won, but he won't do it as often.
Both are the kinds you need, and we're lucky to have one of each. Now to just add a Michael Voss and we'll be right

I see him as a little bit of Leigh Matthews combined with the best elements of Ted Whitten's, Bob Rose's and Dick Reynolds' games.

I see what you're saying in a way, but both are off base imo. Black is a handballer, pendles usually looks for his kick etc. I think a Dal Santo comparison is decent, but Pendles could be much better (better mark, quicker).
As for comparing Thomas to Aker, I mean come on. Akermanis is one of the most prodigious kicks (off either foot) in the last decade, far quicker in his prime. I'm not exactly sure how it is that Thomas keeps getting called a "freak" despite doing nothing freakish other than the occasional spekky. Pendlebury is far more "freakish" in his ability to evade tackles I would've thought.
Like, I think Dale will be a solid hf player for us for many years, but Pendlebury is already a star, so I don't know how it's even close.
