Happy for him to say it next week, but the game today did mean something. We win the last three and we still had a slim chance of finals. Now, however the games mean nothing.

I think you have summed it up perfectly.

People are misinterpreting his quote. He didn't say he couldn't give a f--k. He was simply stating that it was the first time in his career that the result was irrelevant.
