Anyway, having listened to the audio, I agree that the whole thing was taken out of context.

But that doesn't take away from the fact it was poorly worded, so I think people also shouldn't be as harsh against those who would've read a direct quote of Pendles and thought something different.

Judging from the timing, Buckley would have only made his response at the post match interview, in which an educated guess would be it would have been going off something the reporter said, not a recording.

You would think that Pendles has a few credits in the bank that people would at least want to hear what he actually said.

But nup, plenty of the fair weather flogs are demanding refunds and rubbishing his leadership.

Not surprising really.

Part of being a member is sticking by the club when times are tough, not simply enjoying the wins
 
Pendles is due some respect here surely. Done enough to prove he cares about the club. Clumsy way to say we were already out of finals contention, nothing more

Where did Buckley rubbish Pendlebury or was critical of his leadership?

Teams have bad days...it happens.

Pendles has been carrying an injury all season, yet soldiered on and will be a big chance to win another Copeland...he is a star and our best leader by a street.

Yet so called supporters are happy to sink the boot in based on one quote that had no context to it.
